I think the proclaimers book changed to 'may' die not 'will' so since they changed it never really was written that way.

Crazy guy, sorry, please scan the pages mentioned for all to see (I am handicapped)
the Proclaimer book never mentioned the word "MAY" at all, not in English, not in the Photo of the german workshop making the signs
" Millionen werden NIE sterben. " no if and buts about it.
The big puzzle is, what fuzzy thinking in Brooklyn led to the IDEA now, in 2013, that GOD, his smart SON, would pick mental giants that come up with insanity like this prediction as their exclusive mouth piece?
The very Birth of the Faithful and Discreet Slave? based on 1919, Millions now living WILL NEVER die! criteria?
God (if any) is going to make them eat their words

Ucantnome, wt weasel wording is rubbing off on you:
prologos, I think I'm right in saying that at one time Brother Russell was believed to be the faithful slave, later he was believed to be part of the faithful slave now he is believed to be no part of the faithful slave.
Similarly it would seem to me, my grandfather would have been believed millions now living will never die, then he would have believed he could have been part of the great crowd and hence millions that would not die. now he is dead.
I think of this as a sort of progressive regressive understanding.Things are revealed to us gradually till we get back to where we started.
I understood that the generation that saw 1914 would not pass away, now I understand that some of the generation that saw 1914 were part of the generation that will not pass away and soon who knows.

Ucantnome, but I am trying to understand you, believing as you still do, that there is some merit in WT the teachings that were published as TRUTH, and defended to death (of the dissenters) over the years.
assuming that The end of the world came now and all the 95 plus year old seniors would survive, not 2 million of them being JWs, surely. While
it would exonerate Rutherford from being a false prophet on that oen count,
not on the other fantasies which he regaled the world. And Most importantly.
It would prove that WT is wrong to teach that the H2H work, meetings, subserviance to the GB, baptism into the spirit-directed Org were needed salvation requirements, along with the veracity of their other predictions.
so with the "lake of fire" so receptive now, even before th final test for "THE false prophet" or any, (from Rev.20:10)
why would anybody risk that just to be sensational?
wt is not all wrong, harbors great people, but truth will come from totally different quarters.

Band on the Run
I thought the phrase was coined in my lifetime. Conventions used the title for themes. I was very impressed. Of course, my anointed great grandfather died. I saw him in his coffin. The sad part is how few Witnesses know the title. It has tremendous power with me b/c it was repeatedly used in my childhood. Few Witnesses are in the for the long haul, however. I can't understand the minds of those who heard it and remain faithful. My own family is among those in deep denial. Also, how many Witnesses can ever explain WT teachings correctly? My KH may have been atypical.
My family taught me JW doctrine at home. My KH offered no respect for members who were in several generations. There was little respect for Witnesses who went to prison. The only thing that mattered was service time. We were so isolated. I loved conventions b/c I would met aunts and uncles I never knew about. The old crowd was shut out to a large extent.

And this, according to the July 2013 WT came from the newly appointed FDS.

Band on the Run
The very idea that God of God is bound by generations is repugnant to most people. This generations business reminds me of a legal concept called the Rules Against Perpetuities. This is cult talk, incomrpehensible to outsiders. I would rather die with the poor slobs.
