Downtown Calgary is so close to the river - can't imagine it's a good place to be right now. I was wondering about the Calgary Zoo, since it's right on the island. Just read that they are planning to move the big cats to holding cells in the courthouse.

It looks like things are past the worst but this is going to take a long time to go away and clear up. There's bridges that are gone and more may be damaged and will take time to inspect.
It's all been handled very well though, everywhere I know of has had to say they don't need anymore volunteers. Community at it's finest.

Looks like you might need the Dukes of Hazard boys , to learn how to clear that break in the bridge , with a car !

Ha, did you watch how those cars used to break apart as they were landing in slow motion? They must have gone through hundreds of them. Then the camera would cut to a picture of them in a different one speeding away. Great fun, totally unbelievable.
