I was one who just read for a long time before posting. At first, I noticed there was a lot of almost pentecostal types posting. While I want to keep my spirituality, I dont' want to get sucked into another cult. I don't know what happened and I don't really care, but I'm glad there's less pentecostal types and more rational thinking and discussion.

As CrazyGuy posted; I hope all the veteran posters stay, they are very important to this site I believe & respected by all us newbies. And to think of how many lurkers there are on any given day, hopefully getting a little braver each time they visit - without the JWN veterans, there would be a lot less inspiration here for them.

I love that this forum allows a range of views often robustly discussed. It could just be my impression but there do appear to be fewer posters who join seemingly to advertise their (new?) or long-held religious views and who may have thought an anti-Watchtower site would be rife with potential converts. It must be disappointing to them to discover we are not the dear, little lost lambs they thought we would be. As my dear now deceased JW mother used to say to me in my adolescence: You're laughing at the wrong things and getting upset at the silliest of things. She was probably right - but this forum is one of the few where I feel some semblance of being on common ground with other ex-JWs. I leave it to others to determine whether Ive changed since my mother uttered those observant words close to a thousand years ago.
