And if all else fails, yes I suppose take their white stick, so they have to open their eyes just to survive.

Ha @ Snare. I went surfing at Byron Bay as a teen and never left. Currently old, so will prob die here....

Man, if an elder dropped by by himself and I was in my pajamas, I would have said it was rude not to call first. And your husband let him stay and had you carry the conversation....wow, and then this elder expected coffee. If he needed support with his sister's death, why come to you a married woman for comfort? I would have let my husband comfort him and make the coffee or suggest another time to the elder...but call first.

Well, hope things improve, Julia. Maybe you and hubbie can devise a game plan and not get caught unawares. My husband takes all drop bys on the porch, must be under 2 minutes. We had one elder put his foot in the door and try to push his way in...hubbie closed the door on his foot.
