You owe me a cup of coffee! Said the elder who caught me in my pajamas just now.

That was the same thing with the goon elder who was waiting all morning outside our gate to df us. His grandmother had died early that morning and around 12 noon is when the got the hubby. Absolutely no feelings whatsoever! It's like when you become a jw you are now entering the twilight zone.

It amazes me how many JW's beat, hit, shout at and belittle their own children, then there are those that kick them out the house! Only now, in uni, amongst people as old as 32 with their childhood bedroom still there and parental support do i realise how little natural affection JW parents show, even to young children! Nowhere else but a JW hall have i seen babies.... BABIES.....smacked for crying! I mean ...jesus! Smacked for not being able to sut inn a church for 2 hours without talking or moving... Its disgusting.

They have such a cold and hard line approach, its a joke that they claim to be the global representitves of LOVE....

I honestly thing WT appeals to such people. No christmas, birthdays or FUN for children is a giant WIN for shitty parents.

Snare, wish you all the luck m8, you should be very proud of yourself. enjoy your break.

You hit a chord there, the lack of love etc. Yeah, afraid it's not just jw's though. I understand what your saying.

It hurst even more when your a parent, and you learn what love really is, and what you missed out on.

There are so many rotten to the bone people out there.

Glad society has evolved, and we are outgrowing all those retarded ways.

    Ha Ha - awesome job.

This religion encourages its members to see the pessimistic. Can they not see that giving people equal rights is a GOOD thing?

Julia Orwell: It's all a matter of perspective. These people are always seeing the negative in everything and see Satan's hand in everything that goes wrong, and it's just depressing.

Some people look at life through Rose Colored Glasses and life looks pretty good.

    Rose Colored Glasses

JW's look at life through Shit Colored Glasses and everything looks like, well: shit!

    Shit colored glasses

@ Oubliette, yes, that's the way I was trying to say, but you've said it better.

@Snare, my non-JW parents supported me at university, then when I got sick some years later and had to move back in. Also, when are you coming to Byron? I will drive down and meet you. What are you studying?

And generally to all, I'm surprised to see that shepherding and witnessing after a major bereavement is common! People truly have had their normal feelings short-circuited. Like the JWs who told a grieving mother whose baby died after 7 days that she shouldn't grieve because of the resurrection. Seriously, what planet do these people live on? No wonder JWs get so depressed because 1. their normal emotional processes are short-circuited; and 2. you can't express the ones left to you.

Man it's good to have my own opinions again. It felt good to say to my husband, "I couldn't care less if gay people get married. It's got nothing to do with me what they want to do, and if they want to get married, well why not?" rather than thinking it but having to keep it to myself and try to 'correct' the thought out of guilt and fear of not being faithful enough.
