I thought I gave it in the sheep and the goats parable.

So then if that is all there is to it then what is the point of his command to preach at all? It's obviously an utter waste of time if he's just going to sort it all out at the separating of the sheep and goats. What a nice guy, sending people on a fools errand.

The implication is only there because of how man has taught people to SEE the words. Not based on truth, but based on traditional understanding (and I hope you can recall what Christ said about traditions of men).

So pick and choose what parts of the bible to follow and ignore is your solution?...sure why not.

i tend to think God is unknowable.

Many people do think this, true.

But according to Christ, God IS knowable.

"If you know me, you will know my Father as well."

"No one knows the father except the son, and those the son chooses to reveal him to."

So if you are following Christ, then you would listen to HIS words on this matter, over what others think, teach, believe. And so you CAN know Him, Ucantknowme, even though some/many might teach'/believe that God is unknowable. Because there is also the reverse that Christ has taught, that would apply to those who teach that one cannot know God:

"Since you don't know who Iam, you don't know who my Father is."

Ahhh, but you're forgetting that although evolution (slow gradual change over many generations) isn't Biblically supported, the goats are given a chance to magically transform themselves INTO sheep thru their sheer will-power, alone, in ONE generation!

It's a known vulnerability of human mind that many people will fall for the fallacy of believing the "ABSURDLY IMPOSSIBLE over the merely IMPROBABLE", since they "reason" (placed in quotes, since it's an insult to the term 'reason' NOT to do so) that since an idea is SO contrary to prior human experience and common-sense that it MUST be true! Who could make anything like that up?

It's (yet) another example of the kind of illogical inversion of reasoning that Jesus relied on, in order to appear to possess wisdom.

It's an argument even explicitly stated by Tertullian, who recognized and acknowledged it as a factor when he said the idea of Christ's resurrection is so contrary to prior human experience, that "it MUST be believed, because it is absurd!"

No, it must'nt: it's an appeal to the utterly absurd, which gets no less illogical simply by piling crapola on top of more crapola as if expecting the pile to magically transform into anything other than just a bigger pile of crapola.

You know in the old testament what they did to heathen tribes who didn't 'know the god if Israel',they exterminated them. But now instead of extermination in round 2 they are gonna use magic on em . Quick dodge that spear and cast your spell!
