You don't seem to understand that perspectivism does not depend on any human holding any view in particular. That doesn't matter one way or another. The point is that there are different possible ways of looking at things, and no provable way either to exclude possibilities or finally fix on ultimate answers. Realising this is so vital in so very many respects that it is a point worth making in different contexts.

There are many different possible ways to view perspectivism, but acceptance is the only correct way.

Yes there is the correct way - "planet earth approximates a sphere"

and the wrong way - "in a funny sort of way earth is sort of flat"

People should let religion die gracefully. But probably not yet. There are still too many people who need it as either a crutch or stepping stone.

Does trying to tell tec where to find verses in the gospels count?

    Cofty,

Looks like the thread has gone off topic. Back to is the earth round or flat?

As far as theology contributing something. I read 1Cor 14.34,35

    34

    let the women

    keep silent in the congregations,

for it is not permitted for

them to speak.e Rather, let them

be in subjection,f as the Law also

    says.

35 If they want to learn

    something, let them ask their

husbands at home, for it is disgraceful

for a woman to speak in the congregation

This is from the NNWT is has contributed much to human society, by reading this not only can we learn that the GB are sexsit pigs but in general religion is something created by men to control women. It added to my human knowlege today, i have not read the Koran, but I am confident a similar verse exists!!!!

Hospitals and universities are examples of institutions founded by the catholic church. One of the greatest contributor to today's current theories in Physics was a man very religious man named Isaac Newton.

Yeah but the thread wasn't titled: when did a religious person last add to something to human knowledge? Newton's ramblings on the subject of theology are all but forgotten. Except, ironically, by JWs who like to point out that he opposed the Trinity.

Is it fair to coclude then that theology is an anachronism?

I'd say you are correct OUTSIDE OF practical matters.

Ultimately there is Physics, Math, Science, Medicine, Technology in the objective world of everyday life.

However, in matters of Philosophy, Metaphysics and Supernatural numinous ideas---I agree with you.

You don't think scientism is merely the ruling ideology then?
