As predicted by JWN loose conduct has been replaced by BRAZEN conduct. Galations 5:19 2 peter 2:2

a catch all phrase for apostates

another change I noticed was in galatians 5:20 the word contentions has been replaced with dissensions

I wonder if the words "governing body" will sneak in?....

Very interesting. I suppose at the elders school they will be taught how to identify apostates, using these scriptures. But won't that end with the whole most of the association of brothers being Df'd.

The GB's system is a house of cards, a gust of wind is coming!!! hehehehe!

When I think of loose conduct, I think of this:

    Loose ConductGet a belt, boys!

Brazen, bold as brass. I don't think the WTS wants bold congregation members.

I can also see BRAZEN being a catch all phrase to keep JWs inline. Or else they can get DF'd, for just about anything that is out of line with WTS.

Such as visiting, apostate sites more than once.

Now if you are DFed for Brazen Conduct, they can support it with the "tailored" Bible. No room for compassion either, as John 8 has been ommitted. CULT!

The dictionary's literal definition of brazen is..."made of brass"

So I suppose the rank and file will have to turn in their brass balls and knuckle under to the GB

Is this the best example yet of the Revised version being produced purely for cult purposes ?

"Brazen" as used by the WT in these two instances is hardly an update into 21st Century English is it ? How many people under sixty will even talk of a "brazen hussey" ?

Brazen as thus used is a figurative, metaphorical use of the word that arose in the late 1500's in England, and fell in to general disuse in the mid 20th Century.

As said above, they simply wish to use their rendering in this version as a tool of control and discipline, it is not anywhere near a good or proper rendering of the Greek.

To be fair "loose conduct" is a pretty weird phrase and needed to be replaced.

They probably have been working on the new Bible for years, came up with the "brazen conduct" phrase a while ago and could not resist slipping it into the Watchtower ahead of time. So it's probably not really a case of changing the Bible to suit their beliefs, but just changing their vocabulary as they went about revising the Bible version itself.
