It would look like Europe during the Protestant Reformation, now there was a happy group

Yeah, thank god they were all driven out to North Am ... oh, crap.

It would be an awful environment to live in.

Sure Cofty, though it would depend on the Christians, some British churches are quite excited to be offering gay marriage. Christians are a diverse bunch.

Edit: Also, I know that you know that comparing the evangelicals to the taliban is hyperbole because you said they were mostly a nice bunch which is never how you would describe the taliban. I bet if you went back to your old Church you would never say anything like that to your friends. I'm convinced that you are actually quite pleasant in real life.

Yeah I got that originally but when you asked me the question in your post 8894 you just wrote 'christian' so I got a little confused.

I don't think it would look like the taliban here... because the people would overthrow it, lol. Plus, they various denominations of the religion would be fighting each other.

I assume you are speaking of a theocracy that would take away normal freedoms that we have here in Canada/States/Europe/etc.

I would not want it. If Christ does not force people to live by His commands and teachings... what makes 'evengelical christians' think that they have the right to do so? And yeah, 'christians' have done unspeakable things in the name of Christ, things that are completely against His teachings.

Christ did not set up a theocracy or even a religion. He in fact said to those who belong to Him... that they would be no part of the world.

    Peace,

They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues.

That is not how traditional conservatives view the world. There is no such society that I’m aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.”

It would be aweful. The Christian moral police are still chomping at the bit to get political power again, let's hope they don't. Say goodbye to uncensored internet, and entertainment that Ned Flanders would not approve of, yuck!

Remember the brilliant things said by our Evangelical politicians in the past few years- anti women, gays, minority voters; secession from the Union, young earth creationism. This is one fun group.

Good point - if evangelical christians had authority over the Department for Education what would the curriculum look like?
