Anthony, there are lots of posts on this forum that show what JW's are REALLY about.

TW (thinkers wife) said"JW's, do not believe Jesus died on a cross...
.....The Bible says: M't:27:35: And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

TW said "JW's do not believe that the majority of other religious people will be saved. They believe they are the only ones with the corner on the market, when it comes to prophecy and they believe they are the mouth-piece of God

The Bible says: John:3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that **whosoever believeth** in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

Are we to Question Gods divine words? - do we know the mind of God that we may instruct him?.

TW said" I am going to stop for now. Check out what the others told you. Study and truly think for yourself

Study and think for myself.... I read the Bible and believe in the "word of God". from Genesis to Revelation. I Pray to God to open my heart and mind when I open the Bible - and in doing so, gain more insight into Gods words......

TW says "They believe there is only one true organization with God's backing on earth and all others emanate from Satan

I SAY - Read the Bible - fully, understand what you read, take Gods word as is - and repeat what you said above...from your HEART

Finally "Anthony says" (me) "What version of the Bible do JW read? - to assume there was no - Crucifixion and that only a chosen few will be saved?

How many times do you hear people say "God bless the Child (EG a young infant that died at birth) - she/he is safe with jesus now"?. This obviously assumes that a person who dies - goes to heaven in an "instant" - in the "twinkling" of an eye... (as it says in the Bible), and not to lie dormant for 1000 years (dead - without life) - to "wake" for Judgement.

Can someone please provide me with a Jehova's witness Bible? (online) (which will, presumably, include the Apocrypha..) I have 4 Bibles: Good news, Gideon, King James, and a small new testament given me at school. They all say the same thing though, with the good news Bible simplying it for the benefit of those who have never read the Bible - and want to get the main Idea of gods word - without having to think too hard...

One more thing. (a quiz for you!) were did these verses appear then?

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

    Bless you all

    Anthony

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

    Well, good for you xtian!

I was going into attack mode (hahahahaha) But you know what? Enjoy your ignorance. It truly is bliss... What you don't know will kill you, spiritually speaking, but it doesn't matter anyway...

Well, Don't be afraid brother to go in to attack mode, because I have the armour of God.....

"I will Put on the whole armour of God, that I may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil....

....Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

All who have faith in the lord shall be saved.

Also a little Poem for you:

"When the Jews return to Zion, and a comet fills the sky,
and the Roman empire rises - you and I must Die.

from the eternal sea he rises - creating armies on either shore
...turning man against his brother - till man exists no more....

    God bless.

Yeah. Whatever. Just don't break a leg jumpin' all those pews...

BTW. I am NOT your brother. Please do NOT address me as such.

I like your poem though, too bad it's not Biblical.

Oh, and please excuse me if I sound a little mean/harsh. It was a pastor of your assumed 'faith' that took $380+ of my hard-earned money to put it in "God's storehouse" so that he could continue his expensive crack habit.

Forgive me. It's kind of like cockroaches. One get's in your fresh bowl of rasin bran, and it just ticks you off...

    Hi Anthony

.....The Bible says: M't:27:35: And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

Just to clarify one point - even though the bible says that Jesus was crucified, JWs believe that he did NOT die on a cross but on a stake or tree instead. This was, I believe, brought in to make them more destinct from catholics and to have something that they could accuse catholics of being wrong about. It's interesting that most of the early JW books show pictures of Jesus being crucified on...yes, you guessed it - a cross.
I don't think they like the fact that the cross is so heavily associated with the catholic church.
Also, re: the bible online. I'm not sure there is a NWT available BUT it certainly wouldn't include the Apocrypha which JW's don't recognise as being part of the bible (most will never have even heard of it despite calling themselves 'bible students').

Thank you Simon for your reply.

There are an estimated 1.8 Billion Christians worldwide, and I doubt that Jehova's witnesses come even a fraction near that. It was - and is Gods will that the "message" (Gospel) should be spread to all corners of the world. Well, It is my will and duty as a Christian to do that. We must all repent of our sins - even though we "THINK" we haven't sinned (All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God) Sin is with us from birth - and Only when we are born again can we receive the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jehova's don't eat meat? - give blood?, donate organs?, etc etc. But what if it was YOUR child (your meaning any Jehova - not you Simon)that was on Deaths door?. A JW refused treatment at a local hospital (to receive blood), but she is now dead. It's no good having all the faith in the world when the medicine is available to all of us - and help us survive. An evangelist/Counciller (Selwyn Hughes)said that God heals us through all means - and that includes medicine.

    Bless you all brothers.

    Anthony,

Why don't your preach your message to active JWs? Most of us here do not fit that category? Why do you mispell Jehovah? Why did you imply that you don't know much about JWs when you really do? Would you call that a "foot in the door" technique or lying? What brand of evangelical protestant are you? Don't tell me you don't go to a particular church, because, then I think you would be lying, unless, of course, you are trying to start a new religion, which we have seen already in our very presence. Why don't you go to a Kingdom Hall and ask for a Bible study, and debate scriptures with one of them. Why don't you quit quoting scriptures to us? Almost everyone here knows them as well or better than you do. Why don't you go read some other threads here about the blood issue, since we are not in the mood to defend a doctrine of the JWs because you want us to when most of us don't believe it. In short, you are preaching to the wrong congregation.

I forget the number, but I think you said there are 1.6 billion Christians. Now, you don't believe that now do you? I'll bet you believe the following are not Christian: JWs, Catholics, Unitarians and Lutherans. Am I right?

    Larc,

I don't know a lot about JW's - and that's why i have come here to see the "other" side of the Coin. Well, when JW come knocking at my door - they go on preaching about something I already know, and they leave "Empty" handed. They are nice gentle people, and mean no harm, and have invited them in for a cup of tea - and even played the Piano to them - which they enjoyed.

The fact that they are of a minority - like the mormons etc - means they can't be taken seriously -Why?

Well, God wants the message of the Gospel to spread round the world - and with 1.8 Billion Christians to do the job - then I am in safe hands - thank the Lord... the "word" is not going to spread with just a handfull of JW by comparison.

Again, I will say that they are pleasent people to be with, but since I know what they are going to say before they do (quote from the Prophets of the Old testament etc - which I know all about - as I have done Bible courses), then I can learn little I'm afraid...

To be "born again" in the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ is the most wonderful experience you can have - and I was 24 years old when I was Baptised at my local Church (all saints - church of England). I am, to all intents and purposes - a Christian, and that means I read the Holy Bible, study it, Pray Daily, and converse with the Lord God. My day is much better for it when I have spoke to the Lord.

    Goodnight Brothers/Sisters,

May God be with us all, Amen.
