Anthony,
I did not say that All Saints church was a Catholic Church, I asked YOU if it was. You seem to have the same problem Jehovah's Witnesses have, they cannot answer simple questions with the truth.
And yes, there is much I see wrong with the Catholic Church.
One of these is the fact that the Catholic Church honors Mary as much or more than Christ. I am sure you have heard of the term "Co-redemtrix. This term is used by more knowledgable Catholics. The reason I say, more knowledgable is because most Catholics I know and have talked to are very ignorant of what the Church teaches.
Co-redmtrix means that Mary is co-redemer with Christ. In other words, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary participated with Christ in the painful act of redemtion. According to the Bible Christ alone is Redeemer, for He alone suffered and dies for sin. 1 Peter 1:18,19
Another thing I see ludicrous is that the Catholic Church teaches that Mary is co-mediator to whom we can entrust all our cares and petitions. This goes against the Bible once again. Christ Jesus is the one mediator to whom we can entrust all our cares and petitions (1 Timothy 2:5, John14:13,14, 1 Peter 5:7
I can think of many things that I see wrong with the teachings of the Catholic Church as well as many religions.
The Catholic Church is nothing but man made traditions that people blindly follow.
Scorpion:
I wonder if Anthony would be shocked to find out that his "mother church" teaches one class of Catholic one thing, and another class a totally different story (they don't have to do what the pope says!)
LOL
Scorpion,
I am a Christian not a Catholic
Our Lord Jesus Christ is one - and one with God. Take a look at Pauls letters to here what he says about Women speaking in Church. The Church is "All saints" (there are many All saints Churches In England - but is not a Catholic Church. I am truly Christian, and follow the way of God.
Thank you
Anthony

Anthony,
You said that you are a Christian not a Catholic. Does that mean that Catholics as a group are not Christian?
Anthony,
Thank you for your answer. Now that was not that hard, was it?
How long has your church been in existence and who was the founder?
Who is taking the lead in your Church today? What I mean by lead is, the person who decides what path the Church should go. I am not talking about the Lord.

Larc,
As a Christian, I do what the Bible tells me to do, and some things I am in agreement with Catholics - some not - like what Scorpion (thank you scorpion!)said about mary etc... Catholics are a group of Christians (see my link further down), but some of there faiths differ.
I am not a expert on the Bible or scriptures - but I do try and know what faith I follow, and that is loving the Lord God with all your heart, and believing that Christ died to save us from our sins.
Scorpion, I don't know too much about the history of the Church, except that it was built in 1821, and that the Local vicar runs it.(I know what you mean by the founder though) It is late getting here now, and will try and get some more info for you tomorrow Scorpion (re the Church, founder etc). I'm rather tired, and my recourses are low!
Thank you Scorpion, larc, and all God Bless
Anthony
Anthony,
have you ever considered that your Bible is not God's Word but only a collection of writings authorized by the Catholic Church for spreading their doctrine and arguing against what they call heresy?
Can you learn everything there is to know about God from the Bible?
Many of us here have been down that road of dogmatic doctrine and trying to convince everyone else on the planet that we had a true understanding of God. You do not impress me with your constant affirmation of your faith. I don't care whether you are a Christian or not. It is not clear what your motive is here but it appears that you think you have something to teach us about Christianity. That will be a tough road to take and I would have second thoughts about preaching here. Learn a little more about JW's and why so many have left before you embark on a crusade to convert us to your idea of Christianity.
If you will slow down and speak more intelligently and without preaching you will likely be accepted and people will be more willing to address your questions. I have to say that it's anoying to listen to you since you come off as a Bible banging evangelist. Put your Bible away unless it is appropriate. Even the Catholics will tell you that the Witnesses know their Bible. We know the verses, but many of us just don't buy into "the Bible says" anymore.

Welcome Sean,
I noticed that this is your second post. Didn't catch your first one, but this was a good one. If your read the whole thread, which I assume you did, I think you understand the enormous patience we allowed Anthony. Ianoa deleted a post earlier and I had to control the attack mode I wanted to enter.
I like a good discussion, but when a Fundamentalist, or fundi as I have heard them called, wants to enter a world of 500+ experienced people at this site, then, with all their self assuredness, they better understand that they are not dealing with novices.
Also, when an occasional JW wanders in it's like facing 500 people at a door step, all of whom, knows more about their religion than they do.
We try to be nice on a deeper level than they understand, but they do try our patience at times.
Sean, welcome to the board. I am looking forward to you future contributions.
Welcome Sean,
Excellent post. Looking forward to hearing more from you. I too missed your first post. So a belated welcome!
