ARoarer, on the top line of your post, over towards the right, there is a little button that looks like a little sheet of paper with a pencil at the lower right corner. If you move your cursor over it, a little pop-up window should appear that says "Edit Reply". Push the button and you'll get an editing window to come up. It's just like a regular reply window, but it contains your post. Make the changes you want, then press the "Resubmit" button.

I think my time's come, too. It's getting pretty ugly in my situation. Mail me if you'd like to know, but I think you have a ton to worry about yourself right now.

That was such a great letter, but it seems to have been for nothing.
Our niece sent a similar one, after being visited twice by elders, after she left her husband. It worked. No one calls or comes by anymore, but she feels she has been unofficially disfellowshipped, because NO ONE will talk to her anymore, even her adult children are shunning her. ..........she went back to her husband, by the way, and still no one calls on her. He goes to meetings, but so far is leaving her alone about it.

Although you may be under "Ecclesiatical Law,"--you should have your lawyer write and request:
A written copy of your 'rights' at said hearing.
A full definition of the word "apostasy" since they had the nuts to put it in the letter.
A written copy of the responsiblities you 'accepted' upon becoming a member of the JW.
Hopefully you were baptised pre 1985 when the questions changed.

Mulan, I was suprised when the elders called us because we have not been to meetings in years, and absolutely no one will talk to us as if we already were df'd. I think it is because Dateline that Watchtower is trying to discredit us before it airs. I have a question, does anyone have any web address for Jeffrey Anderson's work with Pedophiles? We are meeting with our lawyers. The are livid and want to go after the the bastards

ARoarer: When I called Patterson a few weeks ago (for my Mom) I talked to the Washington State service desk. The man asked me our status, and I hedged with him, and finally we discussed the fact that I am inactive. He told me that they don't "go after" someone who isn't associating. I asked "what if they did something like commit a murder, then would you?" He said they would ONLY if the person was known in his community as a JW.
So, why don't you call Patterson, 718-560-5000, and ask for the service desk for your state, and go through that. Don't give your name, or they will say what they've possibly been told to say to you, specifically. If he insists on knowing your name, ask for his name. He won't tell you, because it's their policy not to give their name. You can tell him it's your policy not to tell too. This is just a thought, but worth having a little fun with.

Mulan, Everyone at the Service Desk in Patterson know us very well. It doesn't matter that we have not had any association at the Hall. I am positive the boys up in Patterson want to get rid of us for blowing the whistle on thier coverups. Apostacy is a good excuse as any for them to do it now.
