It would be nice if NBC got interested enough in the bizarro world that is the Watchtower Society to go into the whole Judicial hearing process. It would make a great follow up to the particular issue of child abuse.

    ARoarer,

Likely the WTS would like to see you DF'd or DA'd before Dateline airs. It can then describe you as a disgruntled former member as opposed to a disgruntled member. The wording is important both as a means of discrediting you, and of containing the reaction of its adherents.

Just a reminder, these people have cunning to burn...watch your back..

PS - Anybody involved in Legal action with the WTS should speak to their lawyers before posting anything to this Board.

    Well, duh.................

If you're involved legally with the Society, OF COURSE your lawyer is going to tell you to stay away from here - and the net. "Loose lips sink ships" and all that. Lawyers don't want their clients to talk to ANYONE.

They know that we tend to speaka too much, eh? *sigh* human nature.

But where would we be without Simon's?

    ARoarer,

: But if Mr. and Mrs------ decide not to appear, the judicial commitee will proceed without them and make a decision on whether to disfellowship them based on the available evidence.

In enlightened countries the accused has the right to be confronted by the accuser(s) before any judgnent is passed. The USA is one of these englightened countries.

In WatchtowerLand(tm) the accused can be and is often tried and convicted without being present. This is WatchtowerLand(tm) and the rules of enlightened countries do not apply to them. Thank JFR for that one.

Watchtowerland(tm) is a world of barbaric people who do barbaric deeds and live with barbaric regulations. They also pass barbaric punishments on all those who disagree with their barbarism. To quote AlanF: "of course they do this. After all, they ARE a CULT!"

I suggest you get your lawyer (or another one) to write another "Fuck You" missive. Play hardball. The WTS doesn't like "hardball." The WTS has distanced itself from local legal issues and will leave their own appointed Elders to suffer and pay from lawsuits. They (the WTS) are so corrupt and arrogant it boggles even my imagination. And I am fearless.

Using Legal letters with the WTBS means nothing to them at all. As far as the Society is concerned it is in the organization and the law of the land has no hold over the laws of God and his earthly organization. If the judical systems grants you what you want such as no disfellowsjipping of disassoction, it means squat to the organization, they will disfellowship you or disassociate you no matter what the laws says. They feel they are dealing with God's laws and not mens laws. They can do this in absentia. I was difellowshipped in absentia. I could have used the courts to my advantage, but like I said it means nothing to the Society. The only way the WTBS will feel the fury of the law is when it is exposed as a harbourer of criminals. Dateline can't come fast enough so the world can see that JWs are no better then other religions. At least the RC church is acknowledging the wrong they have done and in someway trying to make restatution to its victims. I don't think you will see the WTBS ever do that. Time will tell.
