I suppose having a position as an Atheist, is different for having a belief system. But If I believe in God I must define God?

I believe in a Creator who is called by many names worldwide. I once was very religious but the WTS showed me what double standards are and how to lie and call it theocratic. I then hated religion and God to some degree. I went through a new agey spiritual phase with tarot cards and all that but eventually realized they are just cards but can sometimes help you with introspection. Now I find myself turning back to mainstream Christianity b/c this is where I feel comfortable. I do not want to be a part of any evangelizing religion but one that really gives back and helps the community. I have looked around and when I decide to attend church again it will probably be at an Episcopalian church. The only purpose of church that I can see is to bring believers together so they can encourage each other and for the church to give back to the community through food banks and other charitable works. The church just gives you a community .
The Bible is worth reading and can be of benefit in my life. I think the Bible has probably been tampered with by persons with an agenda. There seems to be a number of contradictions in the Bible but still the Bible is helpful to me.
I recently saw a an "upworthy" video that showed a friendly debate and the believer said he believed in God but thought he had a lot of unauthorized fan clubs that embarrassed him.
The jury(in my mind) is still out on this one.
I believe. I'm sure. :))
oh jesus, same old discussion, round and round
To answer the OP, I don't believe in any religion, don't believe in any spirit world, don't believe in any kind of god. I think this life is all we get, and we should do the best we can to enjoy it without harming others.
The bible, well the kindest thing you can say about it is that it is folklore.
I want to believe in a God. Not sure though.
I am inclined to believe that there is a god, but I wouldn't be shocked if un refuteable evidence surfaced stating otherwise.

It never will. If a proposal is designed carefully enough it becomes impossible to refute it absolutely.
If you add together all the disclaimers made by god-apologists, what you are left with is a god that looks exactly the same as no god.
We need to take responsibility to investigate the considerable evidence that is available and come to a reasonable - if provisional - conclusion.

We have a new name now. So do you think I am an atheist really?
