Just out of curiosity, how many elders (current & ex) do we have here?

    Hi Stand for Pure Worship,

"In harmony with this thread, I'm currently serving as an elder, and after being appointed is when I started questioning things. To be exact, it was roughly a year after being appointed and really reading the Bible that I started to realize something is wrong in WT Land. Now I'm struggling with losing family, and some close friends as well."

Hence the need for forms like this. Fortunately as several accounts here relate it is possible to make the break and lead a relatively normal life. We had several Ex-JWs over for our end-of-the-year/Christmas party last night. It is nice to see and hear how everyone is doing. Sitting on the couch I looked over the table where most will still sitting and reflected on the fact there were four Ex-Bethelites were at the table. Even during all my years as a Witness I never had as much contact with those who went to Bethel.

    Cheers,

    -Randy

Don't care about SFPW's trolling past. It actually serves a purpose in showing up the ridiculousness of it all.

    Glad he's here.

Oh, I was a MS for 20 years. I never could get appointed as an Elder. My refusal to adhere to the unwritten rules on monthly averages was far more important than my use for public talks (including as a visiting speaker), instruction talks, regular SM items, being the group assistant and the only other appointed man in a group in a cong with >15 elders. I think I was the elder that never was. In fact if we had not had so many of 'em or I had moved to a congregation with 4 elders then I am sure that HS would have woken up to the fact I must have been worthy!

A very small part of me is slightly disappointed that I never actually got to see the inner workings first hand before I stepped down as an MS.

wow, I wonder what percentage of elders, that know TTATT? 10%? What percentage are in the doubting stage? Another 10%?

A couple years ago, there was a thread that there were 88,000 elders in U.S. That was about average of 7 elders per congregation. So could there be an average of 1 elder per congregation, not believing or doubting??

BRAVO....I applaud your taking a stance against the insane theology of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. What kind of an organization can use Matt 24:14 as proof they are the true religion & bible beliefs, preach "this generation" will not pass away before the end, then when time ran out on them completely change the message & belief to Jesus "evidently meant an over-lapping generation" after they preached around the world that Jesus claimed it was the "1914 generation". Do they now have to start over? And don't forget about the 1995 generation change. It is so obvious now that the JW religion is a man-made cult.
