Wow His excellancy, that is very interesting. How are you handling that? That seems super conflicting for you.
Just out of curiosity, how many elders (current & ex) do we have here?

Count me in. I'm an ex from the Texas area.
I actually think it's very productive being elder material and not serving. It causes others to wonder.... why and to perhaps help them awaken!
I even wonder at times if WT would rather we who are ex's would just not attend meetings at all because of the threat we pose. I often get that cross-eyed look from other elders and their wives...you know!

Ex-elder here almost 10yrs.
I was naive to think that by using the Bible everyone would automatically obey as we were "appointed by Holy Spirit".
I have seen elders outright lie to get their way or revenge against another member and others that are just cowards and not stand up for doing the right thing.
Very disappointed. Now I'm even doubting God's existence and the Bible.

Yep, there's nothing like becoming an elder to realize God ain't got nothin' to do with this religion, maybe none of them!
Someone once said, JWs are great at creating athiests. First they convince you every other religion is false, then you come to realize they are too!

Currently serving as an elder. Makes me feel like I'm leading a double life but in reverse. I feel untrue to myself and long for an authentic existence. Backroom politics running rampant through elderdom shows that this organization is no different than any "worldly" one. JW doctrine is so screwed up that it takes a very naive person to swallow the drivel.
