Welcome LGB. Introduce yourself on another thread. Not everyone makes it to page 5. Haha.
Just out of curiosity, how many elders (current & ex) do we have here?

I don't think we have any elders here -- no hierarchy in this forum.

Incredible! This makes me so happy!
I was feeling down a couple days ago. Not due to the Holidays, but because for the 1st time I actually answered a JW knock at the door. It was a couple of 20 something JW siblings with huge Cheshire Cat grins on their faces. Very sweet kids, but too drunk on the Kool Aid. I was trying to fight the urge to tell them TTATT because I knew I would shurly have thier heads spinning and crush their faith. Sure enough as I began to speak in a kindly manner about the UN, Blood, etc., it was like watching the face of a five year old when old when told there is no such thing as Santa Claus. They did say they were going to check things out for themselves, which I hope they do, but I still knew the internal drama they will now be facing. I also told them they really needed to study their WT and not cherry pick through the bible scriptures because they obviously missed the article about the annointed being raptured after the GT.
Anyway, seeing all you elders here has made me feel so much better about not holding back to those young ones.....Thanx for posting....:)

Even tho I don't have elder paraphernalia, I must disagree with your
statement that... "If the brothers at the top would just let go of their
demand for strict adherence to all of their pronouncements ...........,
people would be banging down the doors to go the KH."
I say this because even if jw's were free to accept or not accept the
words from the GB..... this society is so wrong on so many levels that
eventually 'people' will still see this and leave.
I do see your point tho... it would take a lot of pressure off.

Excellent thread! Bald eagle's comment is spot on. It was the unbelievable hypocrisy of my elder (ex)husband that sent me screaming out of KH.

Hi Everyone,
To everyone who celebrates the holiday - Merry Christmas! Our family is just arriving for "Christmas Breakfast". I really have enjoyed this thread. It truly shows that even men chosen for leadership in the organization often wind up having doubts about the faith. I compiled the following list from the thread of current elders, ex-Ministerial Servants and ex-Elders. Please correct any mistakes or omissions in an additional post if you notice them.
CURRENT ELDERS
