    Wikipedia and Dr Andrew Weil.

The boring truth (took approx 90 seconds to find via an Internet search)--here it is in their own words:

we continue to offer Natural ice cream varieties, including Natural Vanilla and Natural Strawberry. All of our ingredients serve a distinct purpose and help us provide consistent quality from our freezer to your scoop.

^ the boring lie. I'll have to check if the vanilla and strawberry don't have whey and gum. But the reason for all the other changes is because...

" Prior to 2006, [2] Breyers was known for producing ice cream with a small number of all-natural ingredients. In recent years, as part of cost-cutting measures since their move from Green Bay, Wisconsin to Unilever's U.S. headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey , [3] Unilever has reformulated many of its flavors with nontraditional, additive ingredients, significantly changing the taste and texture of their desserts as a direct result of these additions. [2] Following similar practices by several of their competitors, and to the consternation of many former customers, [2] Breyers' list of ingredients has expanded to include natural food additives such as Tara gum [4] and Carob Bean gum , [5] artificial additives such as maltodextrin and propylene glycol , [6] and common artificially separated and extracted ingredients such as corn syrup , whey , and many others. It's no different from bread, spaghetti sauce, mashed potatoes, fried chicken or apple pie. Do you want tasty, genuine ice cream? Then make your own!

From the very first time I ever had Breyers I never liked it. That was many many years ago and it just didn't taste right. Goes to show how far we've come from from natural to fake and chemecal products and they are still allowed to advertise as if it was real.
