One leader already Said It, Forgot his name.. But it's on a very low scale right now, but I'm 100% sure(gotta have faith) It's going to happen soon, maybe around 2015< that's my guess...That's why I'm happy and glad, Cause that way, I dont have to die and wait for a Resurrection, I can just Survive till the last sign Expand to a Worldwide scale, and Walk right into the new earthly paradise...

Hey Mazza, I'm not trying to force anything on you, I'm just saying, Look at the bible, everything is Good, You just gotta believe, Just be Glad you still alive, so When christ comes back, In this century, We all can survive... Read Luke 21-36, That's a good one, once you read it and go outside and look into the sky, You should feel blessed.... I cried, because Having faith In the life-giver(Jehovah & christ) is a Good feeling

Also Mazza, When I heard one of leaders Say, He is working to get Peace & Security and that he Should have it, I felt real funny inside, I was like, OOOOOH S--t, How blessed Are we who are living right now, To hear those Words,... And you right mazza, aint no peace right now, but if one leader said it in our time, After the wars cease, Billions will be saying it, Christ said> Remeber noah day, Jehovah Said> 2 peter 3-8&9 are very important...

    peace!

If there is 'god', it may not fit the definition that is popularly pinned on it. You could read a few nde (near death) experiences. Many different kinds of people have lived through them. Some claim to have met some spirits/gods. Also, some psychiatrists who do regression therapy have written books about alternate existences that some of their clients have described. Edith fiore, michael newton to name two phd's.

    dobby:
It is simple - that's why fishermen could grasp it, but the high-minded had difficulty.

    U2K:
    There ya go prophesying again.
    "In this century"

Ever considered what was meant by the following passages:
    Ex.20:6
    Deut.5:10

Even if you take a generation as 20 years (which it isn't), and backdate it to Seth, you may still have 14,103 years to wait.

Just an alternate chronological view to consider...

Also, you highlight Rev.21. What do you think verse 2 means when it says that "New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."?

    Saint:
"If there is 'god', it may not fit the definition that is popularly pinned on it."
Drop the preceding "If" and you've got agreement from this quarter.

The only God we know is the God of the WT society. It's difficult for me to think of God out of the context of the religion I was born in - do you identify with that? Do you see him as just a incredibly big circuit overseer?
I identify with your dilemma dobby. I would like to believe in a loving God, but the biggest problem I have that stops me believing in God is the credibility of the bible. The God of the bible seems so mean and inconsistent sometimes. If the bible really is the word of God, why are some parts of it so asinine? Surely it should be the best written novel in the world!
Yes, many of us have thrown the baby out with the bathwater. I hope I have an open enough mind to be able to believe again, but I guess during this transitional period, I'm bound to be confused.

I thought it would be better to take a neutral position on it. Let dobby decide for himself. Remember, god made atheists too;)

Even if you struggle with the idea that Jesus is God, the scriptures state that he is the exact representation of Him, and he explains Him.

One of the greatest sins of the WTB&TS is that it has so divorced Christ from God that no-one really looks at Jesus to see what God is like. They think "Yeah, he'll be a great King, when he finally get's around to his third coming" (or something like that ).

If you want to see the nice side of God, look at Jesus.
Even the God of the OT didn't kill Saul's men for eating blood, nor David's for eating the shewbread.

Many loving husbands have been to war.
Does the fact, that a man has taken a life, stop the wife from loving and having a personal relationship with her husband?
Hence, why do you think so many Christians go on about having a personal relationship with Jesus?

Just a few random musings to add to the picture...

Oh, I'd LOVE to believe in god... excuse the light note of sarcasm (directed at the idea, not the believers), but the idea big skyman gonna kiss it all better is VERY attractive.

And if one wants to believe in one of the many varients of the skyman story (skywomen, skyaliens, whatever), then that is great. For you.

However, I do find the idea that some people insist on, vis., that there is a skyman who loves and cares about us as individuals, and who because of creatures it made using the freewill it gave them in a way it did not desire (but must have foreseen), has set into motion an ineffable plan to restore things to the way they should be, basically so it can say "See, I told you so", rather ridiculous.

Outside of the vapourings of the 'inspired' (and remember, one individual's inspired person is another person's nutter), there is no, as in zero decimal zero, proof.

And the concept that a loving concerned creator, knowing the logical enquiring minds we have (as it gave us them), the same being who wouldn't destroy Sodom if there were a handful of good people in it, deciding NOT to provide proof, and thus leave the whole question open to something as tenuous and misguidable as belief (like, some people believe in politicians! how tenuous is that?), is ludicrous.

Atheist; "But, sorry to point this out god, you actually went to a lot of effort to make it look like you didn't exist, so therefore, me not believing you is utterly reasonable... I mean, Book of the Month club can find me with an individualised message, what's with you?"

    Creator; "Sassy little bastard *ZAP!*".

But, of course, while this particular ideation of god is a rather unsupportable idea, one cannot prove god doesn't exist, just as my invisable harem of beauties who serve my depraved needs 24/7 cannot be proved to not exist.

Therefore, there might be a 'god'... distant, diffuse, ideative, unconcerned, primeval creative force, metaphorical, perhaps even actual in some form.

But Mr YHWH-Gets-pissed-off-easily-and-then-does-to-others-as-he-says-we-shouldn't-do-to-others-isn't-that-a-little-hypocritcal and Mr Jesus-son-of-god-kiss-it-all-better-be-excellent-unto-each-other are just wishful thinking and/or tools of social control. If they existed, they'd really let us know (in time for us to make an informed decision), as only in that way could they justifably claim to be loving and concerned. If such entities exist and they choose not to prove their existence due to some ineffable plan, then, well, I think they are morally questionable entities and hope to be given a chance to say this 'face-to-face' before I get zapped.

So, if the belief in skyman fills a hole in your life, fine; I have silly, unprovable, illogical quasi supersticions, like a quarter-serious belief in the Glastonbury Fairy. But please don't make a jump from that into believeing the skyman kiss-it-all-better jive we all fell for before, not unless someone has pretty damn good proof.
    Don;t just believe in

From a Wiccan point of view. Everything is up to us. Our choices are what drive the future not some grand master plan. After hearing U2K I'm glad I don't believe in the bible anymore. Ascribing petty human emotional traits to an omnipotent being seems absurd to me. If your God knows the future before it happens then why does he get mad when we make the wrong descisions while he knew the outcome anyway.
There are many logical reasons not to believe in the Bible or Jesus. Does that mean don't be a christian? No, because again spirituality and religion are not the same thing. There are some very good ideals within the christian faith; they just sometimes get overshadowed by dogma.

Dear Lord, please save me from your followers.
