A story from my days as the accounts servant (not verbatim)
Me: Hello, [brother] here's your copy of the money slip for this meeting, I just finished the count.
Cong. Secretary: Thanks... who counter signed that there?
Me: Oh, [my assistant] is away so I asked [sister] to do it.
Cong. Secretary: Do you think it's appropriate to ask her?
Me: *confused* err... yes, she is baptised.
Cong. Secretary: Yes, but was it appropriate to ask her to count with you?
Me: ???
Cong. Secretary: If there are qualified brothers present should you have asked a sister to do it?
Me: Ah... *finally worked out the point* well, she did just get her A Level results, A in maths, she's probably more qualified than me to count the £65 we just made.
Cong. Secretary: It's not about her intelligence, it's about doing things Jehovah's way.
Me: ???
To cut a long story short, you can rest assured JWN, I recounted the money with a brother, the Congregation's cash was safe.
