Stoning, slavery, the treatment of women and animal sacrifice were all inhumane

    .

Don't forget genocide, killing of babies and old people, etc, etc. Remember, though....god is love- he's a loving father who only wants the best for all of his creation.

And yet, stoning to death is what the WTBTS would do to "apostates" if the law allowed it in your country. No wonder JW's consider themselves to be the "happiest people on earth".

    Just saying!

well, if you can't find ultimate happiness in stoning a fellow human being to death, what happiness is there? JWs and Islam....two peas in a pod.

In the Bible, you would get stoned for:

For cursing or blaspheming (Leviticus 24:16)

For adultery (including urban rape victims who fail to scream loud enough) (Deuteronomy 22:23-24)

For a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding night (Deuteronomy 22:13-21)

For worshipping other gods (Deuteronomy 17:2-5)

    For disobeying parents (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)

For breaking the Sabbath (Numbers 15:32-56)

For cursing the king (1 Kings 21:10)

Tell me if these are good reasons to put somebody to death in such a cruel way!!!! (Except maybe the guy who raped, but still)

    .

Yes.....especially for picking up sticks on the Sabbath. Is there any greater crime? I argue that it is more egregious than rape (note heavy sarcasm).

I remember my dad used to say when it came to talk about my relation with my disfellowshipped mum, that she would have been stoned to death in the ancient isreal. I could read from his face that he would have agreed to such an action. He clearly had no idea what he's taling about.

Even the CO used the same reasoning when tried to convince me not to say hi to my mother. The son of a b**tch...

    Hi,

What I'm finding is that when you repeat to JW's what they uphold, it don't sound so nice... I remember once a sister gave a comment about her long time friend & that when the sister became a sister, she had to end her friendship. Now the sister didn't say why but she had to cut the ties but she did say it was hurtful..So a sister & I was talking about it & she said, wow, she cut off her friend, how could she do that....Now don't they tell us to watch our association, so the sister did. So what I'm saying is that when someone actually said it...it hit home to some of the congregation. Many of us project of what is right & wrong until it comes in our backyard. Another story. A long time friend of mine was raised a witness, big family, many of them shunned other family members because they were not witnesses, well, another part of her family because Muslims...so the JW family complained that the Muslim side of the family won't talk to them, so my friend said, why are you complaining, didn't you do the same thing ? They make up a bunch of rules that sound real good, til it's turned back on them. Even when I go out in service, some householders say, I don't talk to witnesses, some of the friends ask why? They are told they don't associate with other religions....

    Isn't revenge sweet ?
