Where Do You Think That Plane Is?

Well, whatever craziness happened on that flight -- and it does sound like some sort of hijack was happening -- I imgaine that plane is at the bottom of the ocean. Poor passengers -- how frightening it must have been.

By now, if the plane is still in tact . . it's in a hanger or underground somewhere. I'm thinking in Pakistan or Afghanistan, a place where the land is flat enough to have built a long runway, hide it, unhide it for a plane to land, and then hide it again.

I think the passengers are likely dead. That's the reason, I'm guessing, the "pilot" took the plane above a safe zone.

If our NSA can monitor our e-mails, why don't we know where this plane is? I bet the US/Russia/China government has a good idea where the plane is, or when they do know, they are not going to tell us common people. But, when they figure it out, the area will be gone.

If the plane is retrofitted for bombs, I don't know which city will be hit. I am thinking China & India are top targets, due to their materialism in the area. China has been raping Africa of its resources, where alot of Muslims live. India and Pakistan are arch enemies. Also, Russian targets are also probably top too on a Muslim list. Islam and the Russians along the Black Sea don't get along. And, neither China nor Putin are going to play nice. (Speaking of which, did you see the article about the Russian journalist, picked by Putin, giving the US a statement that Russia had enough nukes to turn the US into dust?) And, then there's all of Europe.

I really hope that plane is found by a submarine. That would be the best news ever.

But, if they can hijack one plane . . . they can do it to others.

What has to be done is putting Islamic Terrorism (and all terrorism) on the world stage. We need a Nancy Grace to give them a balling out. No more pussy-footing around trying not to offend. It's time to stand up to the bullies, and the entire world, leaders to individuals, needs to do this. I'm so sick of the "My God is better than your god" mentality, especially when it's coupled with a sword.

I really think the plane is somewhere on the bottom of the ocean, sad to say. It took off very early in the morning; some time around 2 am, and was flying westward away from the rising sun, so even at the end of its flight it may still have been dark- making any landing away from a modern manned airport extremely hazardous. If it had landed at a known airport someone would have reported it- but it hasn’t. Modern airports have all kinds of electronic beacons and signals sent to planes to help them to land safely- and a 777 isn’t a DC3- so I think it must have crashed. It may always be a mystery...

len, so you think the heroic "LETS ROLL" scenario above PA was staged, produced?

what enemy, aka non-iranian, non-islamic targets are there within 7 hrs flying time ?

I watched in amazement out of our back windows a jetliner being fighter escorted on approach.* the same thing would happen if that plane would get near any protected area. martyrs in the making may be.

    * keep your eyes on the things above.

I cant beleive it went down in the ocean , and their is no evidence ? no wreckage at all ? My personal opinion is , it went down on land some where

whether it crashed or landed I do not know. Just my 2 cents worth.

Terrorists are useless unless they can claim responsibility. In this case there is no terror save for the poor passengers, only mystery.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to steal a plane without passengers?

Yes I was thinking it seemed like a lot of trouble to go to steal a plane full of (presumably now dead) passangers. Wouldn't it just be easier to steal one off the tarmac on the ground? But then it would be much more obvious that it was terrorism and the plane would be stopped/shot down for sure.

Still, if this is terrorist activity which it certiainly does appear to be, then it seems strange that no-one has owned up to anything yet, which makes you think there is more to come.

On the other hand, I do think this could be one of those things that we never get to the bottom of, never hear the real story and the plane is never found at all.

I don't think Violia's theory about the plane being taken over and flown like a drone quite holds water. You can fly an un-manned military drone from the ground because it is designed to be flown like that, but these 777's don't have those kinds of automation systems. Sure, they have auto-pilots, but they're not available wirelessly to anyone on the ground, and you certainly can't even use auto-pilot to land a plane. Although the pilot was a flight-geek, I think it's beyond unlikely that he retro-fitted any sort of automation system during the flight while the thing was in the air.

Latest theory is it was hijacked but not by a terrorist - by someone with mental health issues - most likely one of the two pilots given what they now think about how the plane was flown - it seems unlikely that a hijacker could get a pilot to fly in that way without the pilot finding some way to alert someone. Intelligence services likely know a lot more than is being reported in the press but want to maintain an element of surprise if the plane was landed somewhere.

That's probably one of the best theories I've heard yet UBM.

It's certainly not confirmed that it's terrorism, only that whoever was flying the plane after it lost contact "knew what they were doing" from a technical POV. That almost certainly points to the pilot. If it was terrorism, then the pilot was responsible and likely was the only one on that plane involved.

I do agree that the intelligence services know more than they have released.
