Where Do You Think That Plane Is?

I agree UBM, the 777 needs an experienced pilot ( my family member flies one) This had to be pilot flown and even though the ocean is a massive needle in a haystack, so are hangers where this plane could be hidden right now.

Isn't there a device that will disale all cell phones in the area when at low altitude where the signals are available? Couldn't that have been used to assure no calles were made?

Yes there is (non-military) equipment that can interrupt and scramble cell-phone signals within a certain radius. I'm not sure how anyone would have got such equipment past security though - it's not going to be something small enough to stick in your pocket, more like a small briefase at minimum.

688jm. Pilots get by with more tham most know. A family member, Captian of a major airline, had a shotgun shell in his pocket one time, he only discovered AFTER getting off the flight. He also has a security permit and packs. The stories I hear just from him makes it believible to me than a pilot could have brought something like that aboard.

Further to my earlier post about it possibly being one of the pilots who was suffering from soem form of mental health problem - if that were the case he may have killed the other pilot and then left the cabin door locked and told the passengers they would be experiencing turbulence to explain the plane going up and down to evade the radar as they crossed the Malay peninsula and givewn the cabin crew some excuse so they didn't come inoto the cabin and then set the plane on autopilot in one of the commercial flight corridors and himself committed suicide before the cabin crew or the passengers realised there was something wrong and by the time they did they were beyond mobile phone coverage and they could not break into the cabin which was locked on the inside and so the plane kept flying out in the Indian Ocean until it ran out of fuel and crashed into the ocean.

This is just a tragedy and a mystery. It's been missing for 10 days now, if they have all landed safely somewhere they would have been without water and food for 10 days, we have to hope for the best but accept this is a disaster. Kate xx

Imagine stealing an airplane and hiding it from the world??

It doesn't seem to make sense.

...not to mention, minimus, the complications of all those passengers. It is a lot easier to steal an empty car or an empty plane.

Terrorism is empty without fear and publicity. Terrorism doesn't make sense either.

I go with accident or suicide by pilot.
