I have an honest question!

The congregation has to be kept clean. A known child molester/abuser can remain, and be protected. Cognitive Dissonance! The WT org is a cult. The confusion about whether they are a religion which God approves can be cleared away by reflecting on the fact that children are abused sexually and every other way by horrendous cruel jerks who are tolerated and protected by the WT rules and personnel.

I agree 100% with Troubled Mind. You are at a perfect age and time in your life to do this! Concentrate on meeting new people and making new friends. There are all kinds of volunteer opportunities and other activities where you can meet new people. Consider seriously moving to a new town maybe even a new state. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! In 2 years , you can have a whole new life . You will hardly remember the life you left behind.

FL_P, please forgive my mocking comments to you on an earlier thread. I thought you were just another loyal Witness apologist who came to this site to badger the members and put in FS time. If I'd realized that you were going thru an internal crisis, I would not have made fun of you. I'm sorry!

My two cents' worth: don't do anything rash. BE QUIET to family and Witness friends about your doubts. Put on a smile and be reserved. Listen to the elders when they speak with you individually, but know that if you really open up to them about your doubts, you are toast. Tell them thanks and that they've given you plenty to think about. All this will lessen the threat that they'll DF you. Meanwhile think about whether you really believe the WT scenario, in total or in parts. If you want to fade (quietly leave with some measure of respect and freedom from harassment) and are still single, the physical move of your person to where you are not known, suggested by others, is the simplest way to go. Whatever you do, think of Jesus's words about counting the cost. Right now YOU are largely in control of whether you get DFed or DAed by your own conduct, both in JW-land morality and by means of what you say to active JWs.

I hope this helps. You have to make up your own mind.

Thanks guys for you comments and support.

    i have another question:

say for example I fade. i stop going meetings, stop field service etc. so basically I'm weak or inactive. 5 months down the line, someone from the hall sees my having a cig. Would I be df'd?

    Ha Ha---yes, idiotically. for smoking.

You live free and take the consequences even if you fade.

But I wouldn't be going to the meetings anymore. How can they df me if I don't go?

If you get caught smoking, faded or not, you run the risk of being kicked out of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.

What other consequences are you worried about? Are you afraid if you aren't a Witness that you will die?

There have been exited Witnesses here who were DF'd in absentia. They were announced at the hall as being, "No longer a Witness".

The only thing I am worried about is my relationship with my rents. I have a feeling that if I fade they wont speak to me again. Armageddon doesn't really come in my mind in my day to day life. So you could say that I'm a witness for the wrong reason.

Being inactive is not the same as being DFed. If you have a good family they will treat you good even when you are inactive. But don't talk to much about your doubts to them.

Try to get other friends and other activities outside the organisation, but act slowly and carefully.
