how they found so much tripe to fill a three day convention amazes me.....what have they left to say without contradicting themselves...?..after 30 years plus I have heard so many scriptures twisted and misapplied to suit their own ends...to control and reduce free thinking men and women to stepford witnesses....all in the name of 'the true god'....new light ?...just different lampshades...

LOL~!! That was funny.. hehehe Thanks for the giggle. It's funny because it's true.

Talking about the first 3 points could get you labeled apostate or dissenter. Grumbling about discontinued dramas makes them discouraged and could lead to depression. Depression is about the only way 'out' of the organization. It allows one to be left alone and mostly forgotten and can be the start of a good fade [out of the org].

I'm waiting for the day when the dramas, if not the whole assembly will be simulcast from Bethel by the GB via large screens installed at all the Assembly Halls. Talk about streamlining the process and freeing up all those people around the world from preparing talks and dramas for each individual assembly, so they can do the oh so important leaflet spreading work.

I agree that this is a component to every decision. But also keeping the R&F motivated and on edge is a big part also. The more excited the members the higher the retention, higher retention means more members = more money, more publishers = more new members which ultimately means more money and power

I honestly believe that the GB honestly believe they are doing Gods work. That they are mentally deluded enough to believe that all these financial and legal decisions they make to protect the BOrg and the doctrinal churning to save the R&F "from themselves" is actually what Jehovah wants them to do.
As if the God of the universe actually NEEDS them to protect HIM from man's governments and that no matter what it takes to retain members its acceptable because ultimately even if what they teach is bullshit so long as the R&F are on "the ark" they will make it into the new system and thats all that really matters anyway.

No matter how you slice it, if you are a member of the GB you ARE a psychopath

Don't give them any ideas. They already frown on dancing, enjoying a cocktail, get togethers, camping, fishing, hunting, or anything else that doesn't entail wearing a suit and tie, wingtip shoes or flats, dresses with no shape from the local tent shop.

The next big thing will be arranged marriages courtesy of the local eldurrs, under spirit direction of course.
