Confused,
I just read. Credit is yours
No credit needed... I just saw it coming
... will come against your livestock in the field....see it says IN THE FIELD...so if there were livestock in the barns or wherever else...they were spared....
Good one!!
Good catch, I heard another one in Luke were Herod is looking to kill the newborn Jesus and later Jesus parents have to go to bethlehem for the census. Well the census was taken in like 4 or 6 ce and Herod died about 4 or 6 bce a difference of about 10 years according to what I read. Cannot remember the exact dates or time line but they do have a record of the census and when Herod died.
Interesting thread. I also added it on JWR and got some great responses.

Also that scripture makes it clear that Jehovah callously killed innocent animals when there were other signs that could have been given..
This from a God that supposedly notices every sparrow that falls to the ground and wants us to care for our domestic animals.
Those poor creatures were not merely bystanders caught up in a destructive act. They were targeted. Individually.
Your reality is dependent on how many brain cells you have, how good your senses are and what formal education you have achieved and your personal experiences over time. - villiagegirl
Who exactly are you talking to? I am interested in seeing what a believer has to say on this point of apparant contradiction in the bible. I believe in God, but I don't believe the bible is from God. Talking about how many brain cells people have does not really help me to believe that the bible is from God.
The more I see these kind of responses the more I feel unsatisfied in my search. I feel there is no one who can give a reasonable answer. So this just enforces to me the bible cannot be from God.

How can the bible possibly be from god? If it is then that would mean god was either extremely barbaric in his dealings or he was a complete idiot a racist and a douche of the highest order.
It boggles my mind that someone who can claim to study the bible cover to cover.... invest time analyzing texts and still believes it is from a loving god has any brain cells at all.
I don't see any reason for anyone to get angry or insult someone. Sure we all joke around and call a spade a spade, but there is no malice on this thread. Sadly, I cannot count the number of times that the malice brought to a discussion is from a "Christian" source. Time and again I see "Christian" JWs or other "Christians" use curse words when commenting on Youtube videos and forums, followed by death threats. With that said:
"The way it is explained in WT 2006-1-15 WT
When Pharaoh was told to let God’s people go, he sneered: “Who is Jehovah, so that I should obey his voice to send Israel away? I do not know Jehovah at all and, what is more, I am not going to send Israel away.” (Exodus 5:2)"
OK. Stop right there. Here was an excellent opportunity for YHWH to send an angel into Pharaoh's court, or give Pharaoh a vision!! Pharaoh DOESN'T know YHWH!! He is egyptian for "God's" sake!! What would you have done if you were Pharaoh and the sky opened up and an angel came down to speak with you?! Oh..that's impossible?!?! Like turning a wooden staff into a snake is easier?!?! Don't you think Pharaoh would have been really impressed? An angel could have cleared everything up, hell, he could have even given Pharaoh a scroll, and then he could have read all about YHWH! The angel could have explained why Egyptian God's were not real..yadda.yadda. Problem solved!!
Instead, lots of people had to die. Why? Was it because YHWH couldn't think of a better way? If we can think of an alternate plan, why couldn't YHWH? Wouldn't YOU at least try another plan first?? How long does a vision in the night take, really?? The Israelites can't hang out in Egypt just a little longer?? Wait, let me guess. YHWH had to make his "name" known. Yeah, that's it, the ol' "go to" argument. That way ALL would know who he really was and could put faith in him! THAT'S why people had to die! In the long run it helped the good people be more faithful. Oh wait...
The Nation of Israel had the worst track record of faithfullness in the History of..EVER!!! So that plan did not work either..
