Chris Tann - Thanks for clarifying : ) I was a bit surprised about the Beard Remark, but it takes time to get past a Life Time of False Teachings, so I don't Judge.

    Hi Chris

yup, I threw the 1914 one generation pre-Mill out the widow. Preterism was an eye opener. I settled for a partial preterism/A-Mill ...I believe we are currently living in the spiritual millennium in the middle of revelation 20:6 .......and ......rev 20:7

Pterist - Interesting viewpoint, I hadn't heard that before.. By saying Spiritual Millenium, are you implying a Physical Millenium as well, later? Also when do you think the Spiritual Millenium would have begun, did any specific events mark it?

Also im interested to hear what you think about my above comment, regarding a Heavenly Throne and a the Literal Throne of David, sat on by Jesus.

(Not interested in arguing btw, just interested in your views)

Sloppyjoe2-first off, with all due respect ,you really should proof read your comments before posting them. I could barely comprehend what you wrote. Secondly: 1. I put effort in valuing my work, also I pursue what I love to do on occasions

    2. I have attended Columbia College in Chicago

3.I tried learning sign language and spanish, it didn't interest me

4.I have been drawing for some 30 years, and Iam quite good at it

    5. Been playing guitar for 27years and play at events with my family and friends

    6. I read great books that I love ,all the time

    7. Read a great book by a Christian on investing and have implemented some suggestions

    8. Go to Mexico for vacation many times

9.read inspiring books on how to correct my weaknesses, and they have worked

    10. I have met people of different lifestyles, although I may not agree with some, I treat them with kindness

    11. Charity work is on my list, but regrettably I have not it done yet

    13. I have ran several marathons including a mudathalon. I love to jog

    14. Several years ago I did teach myself to cook, and my family loves many of my dishes

You see sloppyjoe i never said my beliefs were correct. If you refference what I said you will see that I said I'm a notsurist, meaning I'm just not sure what is the truth. However I may lean towards understandings of the Bible that make more sense to me. Leaning toward means; it makes most sense to be true ,but I cannot subscribe to it as being absolute truth.

Also I see nothing wrong in believing in the Bible or God. Or at least be open to it. It is very comforting to me when I soberly read it, and applying it does benefit me and my family. Unlike what you falsely claimed about me, I do feel you can live your life in a purposeful way without including religion. Unfortunately I see or hear alot of ex-witnesses living thier lives by going back to cursing, getting pierced , partying immoraly. I know this is not everyone. There are alot of atheist and non Witness Christians who live upstanding lives.

I was reffering to those who become immoral, cursing drunkards when I said ,is this the living Hamsterbait was referring too. If not, then Iam living my life in a way which doesnt always include religion. However I do feel studying and applying the Bible makes MY life enriching.

I only came to that assumption by what you posted. Your post indicated that's how you felt with no information to indicate otherwise. If you live a fulfilled lifestyle that is fantastic. As I said you are certainly not the first person to make that statement. As far as proof reading, my posts are usually a victim of the auto correct feature on my iPhone.

    Hi OT :)

    my 2 cent ....

What seems to fit my paradigm, the church age (age of grace) from Pentecost and especially since 70 AD when the old jewish era ended started the spiritual millennium aka "inaugurated eschatology". However, its overlapping (in parallel) with the "old order creation" since pain, sin and death is still alive and well.

I don't believe that Jesus's return will be "boots on the ground" but visible evidence and after the final judgement, annilation of satan, sin and death a transformed, mortal creation to an eternal state. First fruits resurrection (mortality to immortality) seems to be a microcosm of A cosmic possibility.

    Just sayin :)

The problem is when the books of the New Testament were written. Many were written much later than thought and many were written before other we thought came first..

Christianity has always struggled with things like Preterism, Pre-Tribulationism, Mid-Tribulationism, Post Tribulationism. You would like something so important would be crystal clear in the Christian's Bible but again its obscure.

But drive by your local KH, the new JW Org. signs are up! Or the local Bapist's have a new 'Contemporary Service', or after Mass there will be a Rock Band performing.

Christianity has become Marketing 101, that's all that's left....

Chris. Why are you ignoring my simple explanation that Jesus was wrong? He did not return in glory as promised.

In what way is preterism different from the fanciful ways all apocalyptic cults try to cover their failures?

Chris Tann (or chris-tian, cute, I see what you did there)

Why choose to believe anything? Why is the bible important to you?

Would you believe any other 'holy' collection of books that is internally inconsistent, full of misogyny and violence and shows signs of heavy redaction?

See it as literature, or as the story of a people who tried to understand why bad things happened to them, or as a cautionary tale of trying to believe that 'everything happens for a reason'.

For your own sake, don't 'believe' it.

You are tying yourself in knots to make sense of it, as if the things in it were literally true.

They are 'true' from a mythic or literary view, but not literally true.
