Please explain to those of us who lack your advanced intelligence why there is a "shadow government" operating in Mount Weather just 40 miles from the Capitol since September 11, 2001?

Are you privy to inside info or something? I thought the purpose of having a shadow government was so that it could step in in case D.C. got nuked by terrorists? But, the question is: Why would the government say where their shadow government contingency was located? In any case, Washington recognizes, evidently, that it is very vulnerable to a suitcase nuke. And here we were supposed to buy into the whole idea that the world was safe for democracy after the USSR went belly up. LOL The problem is we still have the same vicious demons ruling the world as we had from the get go, only now they know their time is about up. / You Know

Here, let me draw you a picture:

    (edit to fix link)

The 'red' is where the actual fallout went. The 'yellow' shows where at least minimal increases in radioactivity could be measured (IE., where the QUITE INVISIBLE 'radioactive cloud' went).

As you can see, even minimal increases in radioactivity from Chernobyl went NOWHERE NEAR OKLAHOMA, sorry.

That article says absolutely NOTHING about the threat of NUCLEAR war, it simply states:

Thousands of foreign nationals have been advised to leave India because of the danger that its confrontation with Pakistan over Kashmir may lead to war.

    and in the middle:

    Rumsfeld mission

Mr Rumsfeld is expected to spell out to both India and Pakistan the terrible cost of any nuclear conflict for the two countries and the entire region.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan told the AFP news agency: "We will expect him [Rumsfeld] to tell India to stop its belligerence and talk peace."

perhaps that is the quote you are looking at? The fact that Rumsfield going to spell out the "cost" if such a conflict occurred?

and then at the very bottom of the article:

    'Stable' situation

US President George W Bush has warned Pakistan that it must do more to prevent attacks by militants crossing into Indian-administered Kashmir.

He said President Musharraf had promised to stop the incursions and had to keep his word.

Indian Defence Minister George Fernandes said on Friday that he thought the situation between India and Pakistan was stable.

He said troops of both India and Pakistan have been confronting each other for some six months, and he did not think there was any extra worry now.

So, exactly where in this article is the "media trying to scare people with the nonsense about nuclear war" ???

    I sure don't see it.

first of all, why do you insist on using deceit tactics? you try to make it sound as if we all think nuclear possibilities are nonsense, when in actuality the majority of the posters on this thread (myself included) have already conceded the possibility of a nuclear war between pakistan and india. most thinking people (as i said before) realize this is of course a possibility as these two countries have gone at it three times already.

secondly, why is it that the mainstream media is your tool when its convenient, and when its not convenient its merely lying to us? you constantly spout off about how "alternate" news sources (of which you only ever provide one, larouchescrackpots.com) paint the true picture, and how mainstream media is just a big entertainment joke. of course now here you are, once again providing mainstream links, whenever it benefits your scare tactics. pathetic and predictable, as usual.

Huh? I was mocking you. You are a bit slow on the up take I'd say.

But, just because that particular article didn't mention nuclear war the only reason governments would advise their nationals to leave the country is the implied threat of a nuclear catastrophe. After all, India is a huge contry. There is no way that a border war in Kashmer with conventional weapons would be any reason for people in the rest of the country to flee. Only the threat of nuclear war could warrant governments to issue such warnings. / You Know

YouKnow must have slept through history class.

Foreign nationals are ALWAYS instructed to leave a country that is preparing for war, conventional or otherwise. Why? Well, what happens if the capital falls to the enemy's advancing army?

I'd also point out that the several times in our countries history when nuclear war did seem inevitabl (Cuban Missile crisis, for example), no foreign nationals were asked to leave.

    Think, man, think.
