Comf,
Here is a hint: Think about your history lessons and the phrase; "One if by land, and two if by sea" That should give you the group!

Comf,
Here is a hint: Think about your history lessons and the phrase; "One if by land, and two if by sea" That should give you the group!
"One if by land, and two if by sea"
Oh, gosh, lemmie see, that must be... um... the Buckinghams! Yeah!
No, wait... Lindsay Buckingham! Or was it Mark Knopffler?
Oh, I got it now... Mark Lindsay! He was much revered by teens of that time. Although, that band wasn't known as midnight riders, so much as Raiders.
Comf,
LOL! Now think about a hot, arid state. (populated by the retirees that haven't moved to Florida) and you should have the title. You know that Plum would have had this one if she been following, don't you?
Is the name of the song Air-riz-ZOH-nuh?
Okay, here's one I heard on the oldies radio on the way home from shopping this evening.
Dum dum dum dum diddy doo wah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah
Woh woh woh woh waah-aah
(song title)
COMF,I've got an idea but I'm not sure enough to post it...gotta do some checkin first.
Mean time,I've got a couple of unanswered ones here;
Surely there's someone out there who knows a little about southern rock...
Well the bigger the city, well the brighter the lights
The bigger the dog, well the harder the bite
And more southern rock I'm sure you've heard...(w/a little more,by request, from way back on page 10)
I ain't never been with a woman long enough for my boots to get old/But we been together so long now they both need resoled/If I ever settle down you'd be my kind/But it's a good time for me to head on down the line
Cowboy
Something, something, take off your rainbow shades
Something, something, hey, won't you go my way.
Arizona take off your Indian braids
Arizona...why dontcha go my way
This was a group? ummm. For some reason I thought I rememberd Bobby Sherman doing that song. Now I'm trying to remember who had a singer that sounded like Bobby Sherman. hehehe
BTW I never went in for all that bubble gum music either! Can't help it if it's playing in the mall or the drug store when ya walk in.
My roomy says Paul Revere and The Raiders did that. I still can't pitcure them singing that song.

Hey, Cowboy, neither of them were ringing a bell when I first saw them, but now I do believe (since you mention Southern Rock) that that one about boots resoled is "Heard it in a Love Song" by Marshall Tucker Band, no?

Yep,you got that one COMF....Read what I wrote about the other one carefully,it should come to you.
Cowboy
Comf & Plum,
Your combined posts just jogged my memory, and I,m now convinced that I gave Comf some misinformation in my clues about Arizona. It was Mark Lindsey, but not when he was with The Raiders. I had forgotten that he'd had a couple of top 40's on his own (Arizona & Silverbird). There's a reason Plum has Bobby Sherman on her mind. .What's the first song? (a)
