I spend quite a lot of time on this site but there are still too many threads to read them all. So I have to be selective in what I click on.
I do not click on threads which start... "How many times have you..." or "Click now, News!" or "What would you say if I told you..." because these tell you absolutely nothing about what is in the post.
I don't leave out any posters but I have noticed that there are groups of posters who tend to post at certain times, partly caused by the time zones.

I don't respond to flame posts.
To me, they're a complete waste of time.
There's something about arguing with a computer that
doesn't seem like too much fun.I don't generally ignore certain posters.
It's just that there's only so much time in the day
to respond to all the posts.Oh wait.
There is one poster I ignore.

Since I was never a JW I don't always feel qualified to comment on a lot of the posts that deal with life as a JW. I read them but I try to follow the concept of "speak not of what you know not of."
I'm usually drawn in by interesting titles, and I generally check out anything with a flaming folder but I don't respond to fundies, preachers or trolls if I know them to be trolls [I've been lulled now and then by what appear to be intelligent posts that only turn out to be the hook that some trolls use to catch their victims.] No real offense but I don't respond to You Know because I usually have no idea what he's talking about and to be honest, I usually skip anything started by Fred Hall.
That's just me,

Amazing
Hi LDH: I never really ignore any poster. I go by topic title. Then when I open the thread, I look to see how it is introduced. Length, complexity or agreement woth a poster makes no difference to me. I often will look at certain threads more because of certain posters. Yours, for example, are very thoughtful, and raise good issues, etc. I like JanH, AlanF, Farkel, and many others, and can't really think of any bad or difficult posters. I think at times some posters get a little whacky and irresponsible. In those cases, I move out of their thread onto something else.
Btw: I owe an email and will send it to you shortly.

That's an interesting thought LDH. I think we all have a tendancy to be drawn to some people and repulsed by others. There aren't enough hours in the day to be able to post on every thread that interests me...so I am usually drawn by the poster rather then the thread topic.
The group posting pattern that exists is also interesting. Personally I think it is human nature to feel like you belong to a group inside a group....and its not always the thread topic that invites participation, it is usually the group posting within the topic.
Of course this isn't always the case...I see lots of random posts on random threads by people who strongly opposed each other on a previous issue...but who agree on something else later. So its all very much a day by day thing for me.

I read "You knows" posts but only after at least three cups of coffee.
I do avoid some posters! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!
Seriously, I guess I dont have time to ignore, I usually click on topics that catch my eye.
I do look for certain posters though and they do know who they are !!!!

The new setup of Simon's forum helps to pick & choose - and without being choosy, how would one find time to actually post? What - 10 to 14 pages of threads every two days staying current?
I click active, check the title & forum, who started it, responses & last person posting. If it was started by YouKnow - I Know to skip it. The same with a couple of others. As for the threads themselves? Well, we give hints to new people "if you find yourself on a thread you don't care for, click over to another." That's what I try to do. So many to chose from.
But actually, this forum has grown massively - sometimes there are just too many threads to see them all.
