Only ignorant people ignore people no matter who/what they are..

But it is ok to ignore certain topics that do not interest you or in the way the topic is being discussed.

So much for shunning... look the price wt is paying for ignoring people, silentlambs.

Look at the price USA is paying for ignoring people/countries.

Some people seem to never learn...

One of the posters I really try to avoid clicking on is happyman. His posts are so hard for me to understand.. ' vhat u inn see nowd dee happininggs ov dat worlr' ..I cant make heads nor tails of it.

There are others that I know will give me a chuckle or laugh outloud. I almost always will click to see what Beck_Melbourne has said because we think alot alike and she is crazy!

I miss Beans on here because he would throw in a little spice in a thread. Bonezz has said some pretty funny stuff...

For serious threads, I enjoy all the regulars here... I too, have calmed down on the welcome wagon..not that I didnt enjoy new people but sometimes they make a big fuss about being new and they're gone after a week.

    G'day all,

Personally, I'm not sure I avoid any posters. It smacks too much of the Dubdom, with its "marking", to formally want to avoid anyone.

I find that with limited time (who hasn't?) I just can't read everything. Mrs Ozzie's very patient with me, but it would be really straining the friendship to spend time here reading absolutely everything.

Instead, I scan the topics in the "Active" mode to see which ones "strike" me. I also note certain posters' names, knowing that their posts are going to give me "food for thought". Then I also look for the posts of posters who've become my friends.

So, isn't that just how associations and friendships in everyday life works?

In conclusion, I'd like to reiterate that I appreciate EVERYONE'S posting here. Thanks a bunch, guys and gals.

    Cheers, Ozzie (Posters' Friend class)

PS: I think Eman has a point about the lack of punctuation in a few posts, don't you?

Lisa! I just.... I just.... I just forgot what I was going to comment.... me been the air head that I am, I won't blame anyone for ignoring my threads. That been the reason why I haven't post for a while.. but seriously, I think there are so many intelligent posters on this board and me not been a JW, I consider myself lucky to be accepted even if I don't get responses. Hummm, I guest I'm reacting, eh? Love,

And... I didn't answer your question. Tell me if I am self centered?

I don't have to much time to even read many posts and I feel sad that I know I'm probably missing out on good posts.

I tend to read into people's feelings or their heart or if they experiencing some pain, then I respond to confort or something.

I do read intellectual posters, but usually do not respond to those, especially if I ignore the issue. I read the ones that I could learn good clues from to avoid mistakes with my JW daughter I respond to thank them. And the ones that are to seesy, like this one, I just avoid.

I can't say I avoid reading any posts because of the author; it's usually the subject that interests me. The only threads I get away from are the ones that take an entire night to read. I appreciate researched stuff, but when you keep scrolling and scrolling down for the end...That's when I hit the "back" button..

The only poster I ignore is You Know. Particularly when a thread he has started is on it's 4th page, it's pretty obvious it's just argueing, so I don't waste my time reading them.

I don't have enough time to read every thread, and I know that I may have missed reading/responding to some very well-thought out threads. Occassionally I'll just post a reply saying "I agree" or "great post" just so the originator of the thread knows that someone read and appreciated their post.

    Great post Lisa!

    Prisca,

    I agree. Great post.

I tend only to look at the Active threads list, and so if someone says "Great post" to bring the subject back to the top, it gives me an opportunity to read something I would have normally missed. It's embarrassing though when you read a post and forget to look at the date, and respond to it thinking that it is new, and later look at it and find that it's months old from someone who doesn't post anymore - especially if you've thought you've given them a bit of good advice! Duhh!

I guess if I've something to say, I'll say it - even if the thread is started by a nutty poster like U2K or Bleep. I have been known to initiate flame rows but conspicuously withdraw letting other people fight it out. I don't argue enough, maybe I should - I just don't like the thought of being disliked, so I try not to row with other posters. Maybe I'm a bit of a sycophant, I blame my dub training - I was always a toady around the elders.

    BTW I love you all.

Hi LDH, I know we got off on the wrong foot but that does not mean it has to stay that way. But you make a really good point about interesting posts getting hardly any response and I agree with Bigbio who said that some posts are hard to add to because the post is comprehensive and on point, they say it all. I think in a case like that it would be nice if those who enjoyed it would at least say so .

The post I ignore are posts that involves JW stuff, I have heard it time and again, JW topics gets very boring, it's like beating a dead horse over and over again. Please don't let my sentiments discourage anyone who needs to vent, discuss or otherwise, please do, this is what this website is for I certainly appreciate what websites do for people who are caught up in JW mire like I was some years ago.

I think the reason YK gets so much response is because he is has a lot of history with many of us, cloak and dagger stuff, plus all the in your face commentaries and outlandish BS he comes up with is sorta fun.

I never repspond to his posts and never read them, I had my fill of him years ago.

    Anyway, take care, Sparky
