Outlaw,
When I was DFed and kicked out of my parents house I was a total bitch on wheels. I would have made a wonderful CO's wife or elder's wife. LOL!

I agree that not all JW's are greedy or bad, but you have to admit that your experience with the CO was uniqueI'm not sure how you figure this as unique? Maybe that was just your personal experience. My personal experience was that the majority of CO couples I knew were nice, sincere people who had sacrificied a lot to be in the circuit work. There were only a small handful that seemed to have misplaced motives. And the majority had experiences of miserable living conditions that I have never experienced. So I never had the impression that they had "the good life." Especially since their only day off was Monday.
LOL,(((Andi))) thats funny..>>>Hey Amac, some do take monday off,in Jamacia or Mexico or some other part of the world all expenses paid.Did that make them insincere? Not at all. They believed in what they were doing, and thought god was blessing them...OUTLAW
Island Woman, What kind of a game are you playing? You play it like a poker game, showing one card at a time. So, your husband and you were treated well. That does not change the fact that many were not, as has been well attested to, on this thread. Because you had a good experience, does not negate the fact that many others, the majority from what I read here, did not.
Hi Dutchie,
Well, these were exceptional people, humble people, and they need to give lessons to the CO's I've known.
Apparently from what I gather on this board many of the JWs I have met in my life were "exceptional people, humble people".
Sure there were the Elders and COs who should not have had the job they had but as I have said many times, there were many brothers, sisters, and COs who were sincere, kind, and loving people. I became associated with the JWs in the late fifties and was baptized in 1963. I remained a JW until 1999 and I can honestly say that in all those years the love shown to me and my family out weighed the stupidity of those who should never have been there.
Does this DB prefer that only one side of the picture be presented? I hope not!

The COs in my area weren't ever put up by local families, either. They all had travel trailers or RVs which would be parked at the side of the Hall and connected to the power and water. They were incredibly funny about letting anyone inside those trailers, as I remember. Being a youngster, this made them the most desirable location on the entire planet.
In all my years as a Witness, I do remember one CO and his wife who were the most loving, generous couple I have ever had the fortune to meet, Witness or not. Their last name was Vigg. They left our circuit over fifteen years ago and I still remember the lovely speech he gave at the get-together thrown for him and his wife. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when he finished speaking. I often wonder what ever became of them.

Hello Larc,

I am not playing a game, I am giving my own experience. One card at a time? Please explain what you mean.
I was not trying to negate anyone's experience in the Org., I was trying to relate my own. If you find that objectionable I would like to hear why.

Larc,
Hoping to hear your response.

Amac, then it was unique from my own personal experience. The COs and DOs that I knew were not humble people. They were arrogrant, pleasure loving, "lording it over the flock" individuals, who seemed to be doing their job simply for the glory. Perhaps you have had different experiences. However, I can only relate mine.
Island Woman, My objection to your presentation has to do with just that, how you presented the information. You asserted that where you lived the congregation was helpful to the pioneers. It wasn't until much later that you related your own experience. That is why I thought that there was some game playing involved on you part. Now, of all the posters who pioneered and have posted here, I think, if memory serves me right, you are the only one who has had such a positive experience. Many have related a very differeence experience. Now, our experience does not negate yours. However, your experience does not negate ours either. I and my sister got no help whatsoever, and we did not expect it. My sister is still a JW, and has tons of time on her hands, but she is not pioneering. I wonder why? Island Woman, if you respond, I may answer, but if I don't, it is only because I am going to bed soon.
