Hi Larc,
I agree with your view on spiritual Israel. "Christian" is the name most widely used to identify one's belief in Christ.
In reference to Bending Your Knee to Jesus Christ.
I agree with you that as believers we are not given a spirit of fear.
It is God's enemies who will grovel in fear! But they will bend their knees to Jesus. Even Satan will one day bend his knee to Jesus.Wheather we do it out of Love,Respect, Humility, Reverence, Greatfulness as believers and sons of God or we do it out of fear as His enemies . It doesnt make a difference, Everyone will Bow their Knees to Jesus Christ!
Bending your knees to Jesus as a beliver is a demonstration of Humility among other things such as reverence and respect.
As we know the Prime example of this attitude of humility is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:5-11; Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not
regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in tdhe likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient th the point of death, EVEN DEATH ON A CROSS. Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,(YHWH) that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tounge should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Can you imagine a dialouge with Jesus?
Hey Jesus, wow man, that was a great thing you did out there on calvary. Hanging, nailed to a cross and all that excruciating pain, I tell ya, it was really something. I am really greatfull for that, you bought me with your death and your blood clensing me from my sins gave me life. And I hear ya, when in Colossians 1:16 says For by Him all things were created, ...all things were created by Him and for Him. And dont get me wrong I fully understand that you didnt only creat me but you humbled yourself in Love for me and gave your life to buy me back so I am yours any way you look at it! I get all of that! Just one problem, in case you didn't notice you are speaking with LARC and you see this "bowing my knee" thing is just not for me. Thats just not the way I demonstrate respect! What I do is stand erect and salute! Thats all your getting from LARC ! You see, bending my knee just makes me look like Im groveling in fear. And Larc just doesnt grovel in fear! Hey, I Love You Man! You know I do you can read my heart, I'll do anything you ask, I'll share the gospel with strangers, I'll read the bible, I'll even die for your namesake, you name it! Your just not getting any knee bending from me!LARC has spoken!

Emiliano,
I would not be flippant, as you portrayed in your parady of me. I would show honor and respect. I understand that we were made in God's image. As such, I do not expect my children to bow or bend their knees to me when they greet me. In fact, I would be embarrassed it they did. I expect them to show respect to me, and I think that is what God expects of us.
Of course, if I threatened to kill my children if they didn't act properly, perhaps they would grovel. -

Hi Larc,
Yes we are created in his Image. But created nontheless.I can see you would be embarrsed by some type of bowing before you.
Heck, I would be too! Its just not something that is done in our culture. Besides, what grandiose position do we hold? And even if did hold some prestigious position I still dont think I would feel comfrotabel having people before me. You see, I'm not the Creator of the Universe. My children are human just like me. I wouldnt want them to bow down either.
But you are not keeping in mind one thing, that in your statement: "I think that is what God expects of us." That you think that God has the same expectations as you.Larc, what did you get out of Philippians , anyway ?
Did you overlook the phrase " that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHOULD BOW" . And if you didn't overlook it, why would you be the exception? Because you think God would be embarrased?Ive showed you where it says in the bible that Every knee should bow. Show me where it says that you should stand erect and salute with respect. Oh, by the way are you in the military? Or are your kids in some military academy? Because if thats not the case I would also be embarrased if my kids "stood up and saluted me with respect."
As sinneres we dont deserve anything!
I would think twice in assuming that God and you have the same expectations. God deserves everything, all our love, worship and praise! I wouldnt worry about sparing God the emabarrasement. He is not like you or I.
God Just doesnt get embarrased! -

Emiliano:
With all of your love and devotion to God, how does it make you feel to know that others on this board would tell you that no matter how much love and devotion you have to God, you will be destroyed by the same God that you so profess to love because of your lack of association with the ones who feel themselves to be in his favor?
Would it be your guilt by association, or their guilt by assumption?

Yes, I see scriptural support to show JWs as the nation of “Israel”, “Modern day Israel”.from JR's original post. Hi JR. I find it really hard to believe that the WTBTS is a true organization from God, let alone "spiritual Israel" with it's roots (and much of the tree) grounded in false prophets & prophecies. Even though it's not in the list of criteria, 'telling the truth' is a big one.

Not quite what you was after, but Jeremiah 23:18,22 talk of a group who JW's should listen to, to avoid the coming "whirling tempest": follow this link for a brief discussion:

As usual, quite a turn around from what the WTS believe, to what the Bible really says...

Hey Emiliano.
Let me put it this way...
How do you feel knowing that others on this board who feel themselves "in God's favor" think of you as a worker of iniquity?
(Note: Not answering the verses question, because I was speaking of others).
This is also the third time I have tried to post this message, so I'm keeping it very brief.
