If we evolved and are simply animals, why the hell do Christians need to exist?

What were we being redeemed from?

When did humans evolve a soul?

Acceptance of evolution completely negates Christianity!

It does indeed. Christians accepting evolution is like the watchtower one day accepting 587bce as the destruction of Jerusalem, it totally undermines and negates their beliefs about themselves.

You clearly havent thought much of this thru FT....

ALL x-tians should accept science because it's based on logic and evidence. Not to do so is illogical. However, the inherently illogical nature of x-tianity never stopped x-tians believing in it so why change now?

When it comes to the point where science conflicts with the teachings of the babble or a belief system such as x-tianity, then then babble/belief system should be disregarded for it is based on nothing.

When parts of the belief system have to be discarded because science is in conflict with it, then it places question marks over the remainder of the belief system and the credibility of the whole belief system is brought into question.

This is why people hang on for dear life to their beliefs, even in the face of logic and common sense.

To believe in x-tianity and evolution is two-faced. However, x-tians have been two-faced throughout their existence in that they have raped, pillaged, enslaved and murdered their way through history and STILL claim that their religion is one of peace and love.

The Bible is 100% consistent with all "proven" science and "proven" archaeology. According to the WTS.

Where it differs with anything published then the Bible is correct and the experts wrong.

It's easy to harmonise the Bible and science when you are JW.

religious people should embrace the idea, that like everything else, our world-view is evolving. the feared death is not imperfection, but a natural consequence of existence. new ideas, new discoveries pop up like good mutations and if proven successful, fitting the situation, advance us. " fill and subdue" is a lucky hit in the bible, it means we are the new kid on the block on this planet, tops, and creation, evolution thrives on success.

    JD: "what does this say...?"

P: we should " accept evolution", not only because of the proven past, but because of the future.

Oh okay. It read like you were saying the bible luckily landed an evolution reference and I was just confused by that to the point of dyslexia.

JD, the bible has ~ 35 000 verses, and the law of averages indicates that there have to be some coincidental matches- and their contradictions. "fill and subdue", would be a evolutionary commission to dinosaurs too.

How do you reconcile the Fall of Adam and Eve and subsequent necessity of a messiah with the proven fact through evolutionary genetics that there was never any Adam and Eve, thus no fall, no sin, and no need for Jesus?
