DO YOU HAVE ANY GOALS?

I am very much a goal-oriented person. I believe that to achieve anything, you have to have the goal first!
I have a goal board (I call it a dream board)..........right now it is behind the file cabinet, because it fell, but I know what's on it. I have pictures of things I want, places I want to go, and statements about what I want for the future.
I have had to tear pictures off, over the years, because I always achieve the goals.
Right now my goals are to go to Hawaii for our 40th anniversary in December, live well, take care of my parents, do all I can for my children and grandchildren, travel a lot!!!, get a new car in 2004, paint the house, paint the bedroom, and many goals just related to everyday living. (losing weight is always in there too........... )
Last year, on my dream board, I had: get new carpet or finish the hardwood floors underneath (we did the hardwood floors), get new living room furniture, buy a new RV, get a new fence around the back of the house, go to Florida, go to Disneyland with the grandkids, etc. I did them all, except Disneyland, which I am doing next Monday. We went to Florida TWICE!! It works to write it down.

Even in the "world" they teach you to set goals... they just tell you to set realistic goals instead.
I disagree. I have been to many motivational seminars, and they tell you to set OUTRAGEOUS goals for yourself. It makes you reach out for greatness, and achieve things you might never have dreamed of doing otherwise.
My motto in life is "Don't let anyone steal your dreams..........AND............Don't be a dream stealer." In other words, reject the conversation, if someone tells you your dream is silly, or unrealistic, AND don't do it to other people.
You may think you are being helpful by pointing out the unrealistic expectations they may have, but you are stealing their dreams. Don't do it!!
