I HAVE CANCER

Unfortunately Mary many doctors do not take the time for testing. They cram appointments so close together that they are rushing to get through your exam. Or even worse they make you feel like you are wrong in asking questions. It is YOUR body and you know when something is not right. Trust your instincts. Ask for second, third, forth opinions. If a doctor doesn't know something he /she should say so and find out. When a doctor stops learning that is dangerous not only to his career, but to the person coming to see him or her.

I had been in more stir ups than the LONE RANGER through out my life looking for answers. I have had Thyroid tests, you name it tests! Finally it came out... that I was suffering from PCOS which can lead to endrometrial cancer. IF not monitored.

(((( HUGS )))) and best wishes.

After my second child was born, I went for my six week check up, had a pap smear because the Dr. said I had nots on my cirvix. He thought it was cancer so they did a cone biopsy. It was Neg.

So please get a second opinion. I may not be cancer after all.

Get those followup opinions but, don't wait too long to begin some form of treatment. Cancer is all so beatable when you get it early enough. Be assertive as was suggested and make your decision, and then go for it. This is a battle you will win.

    Hi Mary,

Sorry for your bad news--truly. I had cancer 3 1/2 years ago and remember when I first found out. I was astounded, scared, and practically panicky.

It takes a while for your brain to get a grip on the information and steady itself again. But it will. Just be patient with yourself and don't let anyone tell you to "have a good attitude!"

I read a few books on cancer and sought out a lot of information, but it isn't always the most cheering subject. Eventually, I got sick of the whole subject!

Please keep us posted on your decisions and treatments.

    All the best,

    Pat

    Mary,

Go immediately to the doctor's office. Be there 1st thing in the morning. Tell them you want copies of all of your medical records. NOW. Don't leave, don't be pushed aside. Be prepared to pay for them. (Usually $1 per page is standard)

Have a medical records authorization release form completed.

    WATCH them make copies.

The above link will give you general information, and there is an ADOBE file that has a form. You can type your own up. Go with photo ID.

It is critical that you get your medical records NOW before they get 'fixed.' I've worked with several physicians who 'fixed' their records whenever they smelled trouble.

It is imperative that you get a new doctor immediately. The bond of trust has been broken.

((((((((MARY))))))))) I'm so sorry. Please email me if you need any help with this.
