Well, I am the newbie here but I must say I am so appreciative of the Silent Lambs audio, to which I cried while listening to today. I was one of the marchers and speakers at the Silent Lambs March on the 27th. Forgive my ignorance of the "accusations", but really what does it matter? You are here, they are there, and always will be. I have learned, since the death of my son just about 4 yrs ago now (18 y/o-motorcycle accident), to completely disregard that which is insignificant and GRAB onto and RUN with what is vital to our positive growth. Your website IS vital to MY continued growth and I thank you.

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I realize that it takes courage to stand up with the child abuse issue. I don't agree with the way things are done, but I'll just keep to myself.
One thing in my mind and many other Witnesses that damaged the silentlambs cause is:
1. Mr. Bowen throwing the stuffed animal at the Watchtower Representative. That was childish. I know what he is standing up for but to do something like that, I don't know, it just didn't look good.
2. The accusation against Jaracz and many yelling that he is the ring leader, perse.
3. The Satanic Ritual accusation.
Any Witness or even honest ex-Witnesses know that there are no Satanic Rituals. These people that throw out that accusation are just mental.
These of course are my opinions. Just wanted to share the point of you of a Witness.

Simon listen, I dont know what diplip said this to you, but they are way off base. I would state that they know what you have and have not done, and for whatever reason simply want to make you feel bad. One thing I have learned is that other peoples opinion of me, are NONE OF MY BUSINESS. People make statements without facs or information to back it up. Then further when they do have facts, they draw conclusions that have nothing to do with the facts or the things you have said. The infamous, "so what you are telling me is..." is a prime example of this. I state I am attracted to black women, "so what you are telling me is you dont like white women?"Huh? Uh yeah ok thats what I am saying.
Damaged the silent lambs cause? Uh yeah ok....you have damaged it because you 1..Object to child rape and think it should be stopped. 2.. Think that people, any people, jws or otherwise, should not cover up cases of suspected, accused or proven child rape. 3..Because you express that some JWs do in fact practice child rape and they need to be stopped. 4.. Because, like the rest of us you think the JW policies need to be changed. 5.. Because you provide links on your site to info about the policy (aka silentlambs.org) and videos to the exposure of the organization by its victims. 6.. Because you provide a resource for victims to get together and express their grief, fear, anger, comfort, sharing and mutual growth. 7.. You actually get upset if you think maybe you have done something to damage the cause and would change it if you have.
Yes um all of these things are "damaging" to the cause. So in my satirical fashion, which you are accustomed, I say, damage on. People are sometimes idiots, seriously. And whatever was or wasnt claimed about you, is nonsense. It is like when we had a thread suggesting we dress a certain way in order to be more appealing at the march. People dont say..ok those people are wearing jeans, so therefore it is ok that jehovahs witnesses rape children. It just doesnt happen. People can seperate one from the other. People dont look at me and say, he says racist things therefore it is ok for jehovahs witnesses to rape children.
So I have not clue why this person said that to you. But the fact is that youve done a lot to help. And they can go diddly dinky do for all I care.

Simon, as one of the more newer members here, I have to tell you this site has done wonders for me personally. I've tried very hard in recent months to keep close watch on the silentlambs guestbook, emailing those who wish to talk to someone, finding local contacts etc and simply being a listening ear. This site has done so much good for me, and I can't help but pass along the link to everyone I talk to from silentlambs amongst other boards.
Ignore the gripes and complaints, they don't know what they're talking about. Or maybe "It's getting too hot in the kitchen" and they need to take a walk. Dubs seem to be getting pretty upset lately with all the media attention.
Thank you Simon for making this site. It's been wonderful being here, having people to talk to, vent, share experiences and histories, etc. You've done very good here.

As far as I can see Simon, people have hung a lot of causes onto the clothes-peg of Silentlambs, some closer to the true issue than others. A coat is sure to slip from the overburdened peg every so often but do not bother trying it on for size, it is sure to be too small for your large shoulders....lol

Simon you have provided a wonderful venue for all to express their views. What a wonderful place for all to finally be able to use their new found freeness of speech. Thanks for your efforts in providing us with this site! I do not see how anyone can say you have damaged anything for anybody.

I learned of Silentlambs and Bill's site from visiting this site. Also, the important advances that Bill has made in his campaign have been posted on this site by him, allowing everyone here to share in his successes.
The site has been instrumental in planning the Silentlambs march. Individuals from this site ordered the lambs and still others assisted those with less materially in getting planefare and rooms that they otherwise would not have to able to afford.
All Silentlambs owe you, Simon, and your wife a debt of graitude for the immeasurable work you have done in aiding their cause.
I cannot imagine who would say things to the contrary, but they are obviously in denial as to the facts of the matter.
Those who seek to diminish our efforts do so in order to elevate theirs.
