    Hi Santacruz

Yes the Grants Pass area is very pretty in the spring and summer. I sure got tired of the constant rain or drizzle and dampness in the winter though. I lived in that area when I was @ five to nine yrs old then we moved to Portland. My parents moved all over up and down the west coast. But I always managed to find them.

Went to school in the old roosvelt school. It was so large I marveled at it as a child. Now it is an office building and really quite small. Ones perspective sure changes from child to adult.

I live on the other side of the Rogue Valley, Butte Falls. It's not as drizzly over this way, but still those cold winters are getting to these old bones.

I can't wait until the day when I'm considered a local on Maui.

Wow. A local on Maui? Now that's a goal, I could strive for. How do you move 25 people over there? That's my family. Couldn't go without them.

But ladies, what about child birth???? Can you imagine having a baby back in those day's or any other type of surgury or ailment. I recently had gall blatter surgury and I can't imagine what I would have done if I were living back then!!! Probably just suffer! I had endometriosis back in my 20's. Can't imagine having to live with that without the treatment that today has to offer. Sorry girls, I'm pretty good with the now! I think times were tough way back then. Doesn't anybody agree with me on this! Alright alright I know I'm a wimp!

That is true Tink, I would have been dead at 20 yrs old with the first. I almost died with him , due to the blood issue. In fact they told me there was nothing to do but wait and die. So that would have been a factor for sure. But pretending nothing like that would happen , it would be nice to just time travel anyway.

North America-- say 1890-1920-- a really cool but overlooked era in US history. Preferably in the west.

I could always imagine myself as a ex- Cavalry trooper working in the one of the old trades; blacksmith, cooper maybe a livery owner. Or, in the ranching business.

    Hey there LB.

So you live in th Butte Falls area. Ben through there I think as a child. I live in SW Idaho and I guess the weather is as good as one can find when one looks at the year round averages.

If I am right Maui is the island Honolulu is on. I went there once and was dissapointed with what I saw. I was expecting the lush green shown in all the brochures and ads and found it to look a lot like dusty warm So Calif. Only one spot on the island was green and with running water. Had a lot of fun there anyway with all the different things to go see.

I am told some of the other islands do live up to the brochures and are beautiful.

    Good luck with your wish.
