Cat's in the Cradle-Harry Chaplin
Butterfly Kisses-Bob Carlisle
These first two remind me of my parents, and the relationship I no longer have with them.

Song | All By Myself |
When I was young I never needed anyone And makin' love was just for fun Those days are gone Livin' alone I think of all the friends I've known But when I dial the telephone Nobody's home All by myself Don't wanna be, all by myself anymore All by myself Don't wanna live, all by myself anymore Hard to be sure Sometimes I feel so insecure And love so distant and obscure Remains the cure |
Josh Grobin "To Where You Are." I believe is the title
and the new one by Celine Deon about her Momma.
I am so not good at remembering names and titles.

He Stopped Loving Her Today
Damn....that was my choice too.
How about...."don't close your eyes", by keith whitley....( it's a country tune )
A sad song about a man who has lost his wife to another man and the man is asking her not to think of her new love when she is with him......makes we want to cry just writing this.
Francois......it's nice to have old bastards like you here to remind us of the never dying standard classics! I also like the ones you mentioned.
Oh My Goodness, I was just listening to a song on the radio, and it brought back some memories. I think this is the saddest song I have yet heard. My daughter was young age 9 or 10, and a little girl in her school had just died of cancer, and we were to attend her funeral, and there I sat surrounded with little girls, then the sister of the little girl got up, and played on the piano a song called "The Rose." by Bette Midler. The whole place was in tears, it was the most moving experience I have ever had, to sit there and watch these little girls morn over the lose of a friend. God Bless this little child. In memory of her, they soon after this funeral planted a tree at the school, and hung a plaque in her remembrance. The song the sister played apparently was her sisters favorite. I was just overwhelmed and cried along with the rest, as I handed out tissues to all around me.
Larry, you want to hear one that will rip your heart out, download this one!
Kenny Chesney - A lot of things different
Tink
That "Bobby Goldsborough" one (I think)
But also "Empty Chairs" by Don McLean
I feel the trembling tingle of a sleepless night
Creep through my fingers and the moon is bright
Beams of blue come flickering through my window pane
Like gypsy moths that dance around a candle flame
And I wonder if you know
That I never understood
That although you said you'd go
Until you did I never thought you would
Moonlight used to bathe the contours of your face
While chestnut hair fell all around the pillow case
And the fragrance of your flowers rest beneath my head
A sympathy bouquet left with the love that's dead
And I wonder if you know
That I never understood
That although you said you'd go
Until you did I never thought you would
Never thought the words you said were true
Never thought you said just what you meant
Never knew how much I needed you
Never thought you'd leave, until you went
Morning comes and morning goes with no regret
And evening brings the memories I can't forget
Empty rooms that echo as I climb the stairs
And empty clothes that drape and fall on empty chairs
And I wonder if you know
That I never understood
That although you said you'd go
Until you did I never thought you would
Sammy Kershaw---One day left to live.
Also, Dixi Chicks---You were mine
I can't find a reason to let go
Even though you've found a new love
And she's what your dreams are made of
I can't find a reason to hang on
What went wrong can be forgiven
Without you it ain't worth livin' alone
CHORUS
Sometimes I wake up crying at night
And sometimes I scream out your name
What right does she have to take you away
When for so long you were mine
I took out all the pictures of
Our wedding day
It was a time of love and laughter
Happy ever after
But even those old pictures have
Begun to fade
Please tell me she's not real
And that you're really comin' home to stay
REPEAT CHORUS
I can give you two good reasons
To show how you love's not blind
He's two and she's four and you know
They adore you
So how can I tell them you've changed
Your mind
REPEAT CHORUS
I remember when you were mine
