The Rose
Artist: Bette Midler
Words & Lyrics by: Amanda McBroomSome say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower, and You its only seed.
It's the heart, afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin', that never learns to live.
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes
The Rose. -

Do You Remember
Looking back on yesterday
Memories won't fade away
I can't forget the love we made
So beautiful, we had it all
No use looking to the past
We both knew it wouldn't last
But it was fun, we had a blast
So beautiful as I recall
Where did it go
Say do you remember the 1st of December
When we were riding on the backseat
Turn the radio on and play our favourite song
We were making out to the back beat
My girl'd get sad and your man'd get mad
But they don't have to know
Do you remember singing?
Breaking rules we always would
Doing things we never should
We were so bad but it felt so good
Do you remember, say do you remember
I wonder where you are tonight
But I know that you'll be alright
Cos I see our star is shining bright, it's so beautiful it will never fall
Where did it go
Say do you remember the 1st of December
When we were riding on the backseat
Turn the radio on and play our favourite song
We were making out to the back beat
My girl'd get sad and your man'd get mad
But they don't have to know
Do you remember singing?
Looking back on yesterday
Memories won't fade away
I can't forget the love we made
So beautiful, we had it all
No use looking to the past
We both knew it wouldn't last
But it was fun, we had a blast
So beautiful as I recall

Lilacs, are you downloading *A lot of things different*? If so, tell me what ya think!
-
WildHorses
Yes Tink, I am, but it says I need more sources. I think everyone reading this thread are downloading all the songs listed so I guess it will take some time.
I guess I will have to wait until I get home from work tonight to tell you what I think.

Starry Starry Night - Vonda Shepard's remake (brings back memories of a 15 year old girl who understood the lyrics and acted on them - wish I would've known then what I know now....)
