    Xmas grub will normally include:

A side of gammon for Christmas eve.

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and champagne for Xmas day breakfast.

Normally a 18 pound turkey for Xmas lunch, new potatoes, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, baby carrots, broad beans etc:

HL's home made chicken liver pate, followed by Xmas pud and brandy butter.

Englishman, is a side of gammon, ham or bacon? I have never liked brussel sprouts but admire anyone who does.

Not Interested, I am going shopping today to try out that drink.

Minimus, I'm glad to hear that. Anything special?

I love anything that's really bad for you. My worst weakness is eggnog. There's a farm that sells it nearby and I have to limit myself or else 5 lbs. added is going to be the reality. btw, Blondie, I hope you knew I was kidding about not liking Xmas anything. I am a big tease, you know.

Minimus, I know that but I am careful not to assume anything. Just add a little smiley face for me, I'm a little challenged in the humor area.

I love eggnog to but as soon as New Years is over the dairies stop making it. I wish there were eggnogg cows.

Bread sauce, bucketloads and bucketloads of bread sauce.

Anyone having brussels sprouts with their xmas dinner, you should really have put them on to boil by now!

    Iggy, that is so true.

What is in bread sauce? Is that like bread pudding?

    Hi Blondie,

Erm, you know what, I don't know what's in bread sauce! We buy it in jars or sachets and then either heat it up or add the sachet contents to a pan of warm milk. I think its basically breadcrumbs and either cream or milk. Whatever it is, it's delicious. I think you need something quite moist and stodgy to go with turkey which can be quite dry.

I'm one of those people who's quite happy to eat bread sauce, but have no idea how it works!

    ig.
