I'm not a Calvinist cuz I beleive in the bible. That's why I'm Catholic.

Nicely put.
As I quoted before, "Of all the doctrines of the Bible none is so offensive to human nature as the doctrine of God's sovereignty"; and judging by some of the responses here, this statment certainly is true.

But we here on earth don't have to worry about election and predestination, that part is God's work. All we are commanded to do is spread the simple Gospel: that all who come to Him will be saved. God will not deny anyone, and if you come to Him sincerely, then you are His elect.
On this earth it almost seems like free will, but when we stand in heaven, we will understand completely that it was God who chose us, not we who chose Him.

Swedish chef, you really make me sick by your blind recommendation of your personal beliefs & bashing of others. I don't mind you knocking others beliefs per se, just your smug self centered spoutng that you are the one that is right, while others that don't toe your party line are automatically wrong. You (1) called all religion a big joke, (2)called people stupid.

I, on the other hand, was stating what I know, and that is that Catholicism is false. I can prove it in the Bible. But since I don't think you don't care either way, I won't.

What you mistake for smugness and a superiority complex is actually my faith in the Word of God. Unless my beliefs go against what the Bible says, then I will have to say that I am right. Not on my own authority, but upon the authority of God's word.

The truth is that I'm a sinner deserving of hell, and so are you. Mankind is fallen and is in need of a Savior. God has provided this Savior. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins and mine, that whosoever repents and believes on His name may be righteous in the sight of the Lord. The shed blood of the Lamb cleanses us from sin, washes us white as snow, and, my friend, if you come to Him, regardless of anything you have done in the past, He will not cast you out. He's calling for sinners like you come to home. Will you hear Him?

Who are you to say that I have'nt? Are you saying you know my spritual beliefs? Are you saying I need to join a church based on your interpretaion of the bible? See? I appreciate your caring enough to "scare me into belief" what w/ hell, eternal damnation etc.. But your arrogance in telling me what I do & don't believe really scares me more than the whole hell thing. And is'nt pride a sin?
