More Waco than Waco itself. Seems highly speculatively charged. As the decades pass by, anything's possible, I suppose. And the (religious) groups that adapt to the times, survive.

I have always thought that, if anything happens, it will consist of a hard-core of uber JWs making it clear to the lukewarm rank and file, "shape up or ship out" and JW.org become increasingly marginalized away from the mainstream.

Well of the two words they have in their identity 1) Jehovah and 2) Witness, it seems the word witness would be easy to morph in to the word worshiper.

So the common thread among some of you theorists is that changing their name would be to distance themselves from past failures. But changing from Jehovah's Witnesses to Jehovah's Worshipers doesn't distance them from their first failure upon naming themselves Jehovah's Witnesses way back when... that the name Jehovah was mistranslated and is not the correct name for their Hebrew god. If they really wanted to prove that this is a new starting point, shutting the door on the past, and the erroneous failures, they should change it to Yahweh's Worshippers. But YW.org doesn't roll off the tongue the way JW.org does.

Actually, until there is some definitive proof, I ain't buyin it...

This will be an issue for them. The March 1, 1981 Watchtower had a list of "credentials" proving that the anointed remnant were the F&DS. The last item on the list was "(80) Jehovah's witnesses, Isa. 43:10." The rest of the list was presented in order of the books of the Bible, they put this one out of order, at the end to emphasize it. They can change the name to something else, but I don't see how they can claim scriptural backing for it.

The WT Nov. 15, 2015 study edition on page 23 says:

    HAVE LOVE FOR FELLOW WORSHIPPERS

8 Throughout the earth, there are millions who worship Jehovah and bear witness to his name and purpose. How should each worshipper of Jehovah view his fellow Witnesses?

    8. How should worshippers of Jehovah view fellow Christians?

You can't make this stuff up!

If true, it wouldn't change much.

The GB could change the name to The Holy of Jehovah or Jehovah's Monkey Show and it still wouldn't comply with Scripture:

Daniel 7:13-14 " .....I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him.
14 To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed."

The Christian Congregation of Jehovah Worshippers...this mouthful reminds me of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. :) well actually their current name is just as awkward isn't it? Seriously, wipe the slate, just call themselves THE TRUTH already. (And here we can call it THE LIES.)
