I think few admire DT, except for his shaking things up. As for wanting a child to be pres, there used to be ones liked; Eisenhower, truman, Ford, carter. Kennedy. Not everything they did, but as humans. We may have our favorite from history but none could handle this mess

For all practical purposes, it takes a majority of the opposition party in both chambers of Congress to remove a President.
And unless the Democrats can produce a viable candidate in the tiny handful of states that actually count, he will very likely win in 2020.
Trump's impeachment is just 'smoke and mirrors' created by liberals. Their attitude is exemplified by a recent article in the magazine "The Atlantic", 'A Gangster in the White House'. They seem to live in another world, and yes, I think he's gonna be reelected.
Yes, Trump was impeached.i guess if the House doesn’t finish the process, he just stays impeached. Most normal people will regard that as bogus as far as “impeachment “ is concerned. If they refuse to send this to the Senate , they will have successfully impeached him with nothing happening to him regarding removal . It’s such bullshit it’s not even funny.
Whether or not he can be considered an “impeached” president, IMHO, is just a word game. The Democrats would like to slap the title onto Trump to brag that being impeached is another reason to vote him out of office. Republicans would like to take that away from them. But to me, it doesn’t matter. The House held the vote, and most likely the articles will get moved to the Senate at some point. If not, then this becomes and even larger joke.
On the Senate side, I can understand both viewpoints: just dismiss vs have a trial. On the “just dismiss it” side, the House already passed horribly flawed articles, so maybe the Senate should reject the articles as a rebuke, and to set a precedent for any future partisan impeachments. On the “fair trial” side, now is the chance to bring e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g out into the open.
I tend to agree with the fair trial side. Have the trial, bring every witness that was within breathing distance of this thing, including Trump, including Biden, including Schiff, Nadler, and ask some very clear questions. Oh and get the whistleblower there too (Eric Ciaramella), and just have a forking field day, right up to the election.
I think the Democrats knew beforehand that they didn't have enough to get impeached and thrown out of office but they considered the effort worthy as a means to darken his approval and image heading into the 2020 election.

Trump will get re-elected. All three branches of the government will swing Republican. So much for the bat shit left segment unifying the Democratic party.

When the democrats start bombarding the airwaves with political ads next summer/fall with Trump's own profanity-laced, bat-shit crazy conspiracy stuff, I think he will lose most of the independents.
At every political event he attends and his twitter stuff, he creates enough fodder for a dozen democratic commercials.
I can just see a rural family sitting around the TV, and Trump coming on the air screaming his sons-of-bitches and bastards lines. The parents get up and change the channel and tell the young children you shouldn't be listening to this. "We taught you be better than that." ..... and the picture fades away and the Biden 2020 thing appears on the screen.
