Simon,
You let Robdar's anti-war post go 13 pages. There were things said on that thread that were just plain mean and uncalled for. This isn't even about supporting the war. This is about supporting the troops. Do you not care that there are some of your countries troops over there. Are you so stubborn and against the war that you are not willing to support the troops that are there fighting for you? Willing to give their life for you?

A beautiful thought by a great person, I do wish we could do it but I will put one on my tree outside and on my car.

Email this was for a good cause.
Let it be known that so many of us will be doing just as SHeilaM has said, tying yellow ribbons on our tress at home and on our vehicles.
I can't wait to put a big one on my big black truck and drive all over town for all the witnesses to see.
I hope if any of our service men are reading this, they will know we are wishing their safe return home.
At the club that Denny and I go to there are many military people there, because it is the same city as Barksdale Airforce Base,,,,,,,,,,one of the bases the President landed for emergency briefing on the day of 9/11 tragedy, so there are tons of people from our hometown that have been called months ago.
Tomorrow I will go out and buy a yellow ribbon.....

USA & UK have the greatest troops on this planet, I'd wrap a huge yellow ribbon around my entire house if I had one..lol. You have to be proud of em.

Huh? The following is what Simon has been saying over and over:
When have I said it isn't allowed to be discussed? As long as things are done in a respectful way, as you say, then people are free to discuss things.
please show me where I have denied people the opportunity of expressing their support of their country or their troops
I did put up a topic saying that I thought it was possible to support the troops while opposing the war ... and kinda got shot down.
That sounds fair enough to me

Sen. John McCain was on Msnbc this pm and talking about the POW"s. I thought he was so powerful when he said to the Iraqui captors that they would pay the "ultimate price" if they harmed them.
I have family in the 82 Airborne, and more to go over. I am tieing a yellow ribbon for all those fighting against terrorism. My son bravely served in when we went into Albania. i don't think i slept until he was out of harms way. he once called me from a sheep field. He was so afraid, and he got ill on the food over there. After he got home he told me he often vomited for days,b/c of the food. I often sent a l 'care packages' for his troop. Full of candy, and a football. They were playing football in a sheep field. "Mom, i'm up to my a** in sheep sh*t".
When i think it could have been my son, on TV, i cry for the family.
edited so the thread will remain for the troops only, but feeling i should not feel i need to do this.
I am removing the yellow ribbon, b/c i do not wish others to post images of the american flag that befoul it.

When I saw this thread, I thought, finally something that's in support of the troops. Then I see that Simon inexplicably doesn't want this kind of thing. ?? I surely don't see the rationale for that. Then comparing the length of threads anti-war (1234 we don't want this war, etc.) up to 13 pages, it becomes clear what is acceptable.
There seems to be a bit of bias here.
Thanks email for the thought about support. It just doesn't fly with most people, it seems.

The yellow ribbon is about support, wanting our kids to come back home, nothing else. Denying anyone the posting of a yellow ribbon is narrow minded and silly.
