Joseph never LEGALLY married Mary did he? God said don't worry Joseph.....take her home.( something to that effect anyway )

The borg isn't the only bible group who would ostrasize you for viewing your realtionship as binding before God without going through the legal hoops. They all do in that sense.

I am glad you are now free from the borg and hope you do not have to face too much rejection from family..........that's a toughy

Rhode Island for one has a law called 'presumptive evidence of marriage' that says if you exchanged vows in front of witnesses and rings(IN Rhode Island--but you do not have to be residents of RI) and start using his name you are married with or without a license and you can apply for a license anytime after that if you have your witnesses sign the form. Lee and I did this and when we 5 years later had a church wedding in the Catholic Church--it was good enough for them. We never did get a license and now I have a certificate from the church saying we are married too. Incidentally if we wanted a legal divorce we would also have to file for the license in Rhode Island before we could file for divorce(not likely). It is perfectly legal and minimally documented---which is what we wanted. I understand other states have similar laws too. check it out for Australia.

    Kelpie.

I hope you have a long life together with your spouse. However, with all your good words, nothing you say makes what your doing a legal marriage.

My question to you is: why don't you get married?

they booted you without even giving you a real hearing

Jeff.. they did ask me to attend a committee meeting but it was to be held 9 hours from where I currently live. There was no way I could attend that.

My question to you is: why don't you get married?

Larc: We are getting married, in October this year. I was just trying to make a point thats all.

Bliss: We finally caught up. We can go shopping together on Friday to buy me an outfit to wear for my engagement party in Newcastle.

To everyone: It is great to be free. As I was saying to Bliss, I thought I would have been upset over the fact that I had finally been df'd but after I got off the phone, I danced around the room. It was actually a relief. It is all behind me now. I have my future to look forward to, a wedding to plan (arrk.. I havent done much for that) and then hopefully a baby to have after we get married.

I am also a step mother to 3 kids so i am extremely busy and sooooooo happy to be out of the borg.

    Love to all.

blue - I have sent you an email

Kelpie: I'm sure your heart must be heavy with emotion.

Now, I know you aren't interested in returning to the borg., but the nerve of these fools ( jc ) to try to call you at the workplace to discuss these things?? Good grief.

Interesting when they talk about 'caesars things to caesar' and generally obeying the law of the land.

...as if the law of the land has remained static for 10, 20 or 50 to 100+ years or more. You know what I mean?

Some offenses 100 or more years ago that would have been prison terms, are either legal now, or merely a slap on the wrist.

Definition of marriage has changed to.

I think you've got an excellent point. I think you've got something there. But of course, not that you're clamouring to be back at the kingdom hall tonight .

Rest assured my dear, you are in good company here on this forum.

    Open arms 24 / 7.
