Thank you very much RB. I am actually quite suprised and relieved at the same time to find that the majority of you are not practicing JW's. I am curious, are peoples finding some sort of corruption or just downright insanity to the current practice and doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses?

Yes, insanity (not clinical necessarily) in doctrinical flipflops

and yes to corruption regarding the UN fiasco

MMTP: the last line you wrote:

    The answer is: YES

I am not sure what sort of browser you may be using on your computer, but honestly, just above, you'll see right at the top of this website's page: a banner (looks like a banner ad).

Click there, or simply do a search on any topic via the Search feature. You'll be surprised at what you'll find.

Many of us have been: Pioneers, Bethelites, brothers & sisters, Ministerial Servants, elders and the list goes on and on.

Check out: http://www.silentlambs.org (child abuse cases, that'll freak you/anyone out).

Or, if you have any question ask it here. Yes, compare it with WTBTS material. You'll see what we mean.

Hope you're doing well. Glad you're here.

MMTP, the Watchtower Society had NGO (non-governmental organization) status with the UN which meant supporting the UN's goals. They had it for 10 years till someone found out and started telling people.

These 2 sites can tell you more and provide the necessary documentation.

Welcome to the forum MMTP!!!!! Glad to see a fellow serviceman, even if you are Navy , on the forum! I am a PFC in the U.S Army. 35th MP Company, Topeka, Kansas.

To give you a bit of background info on myself so you know where I am comming from. I was a JW for 15 years of my life. In this time I was a regular pioneer for 2 years and was head of the sound department for 5. I decided to leave about a year and a half ago because I couldnt stand the hypocracy involved. The coverups for family or friends of those high up. The whole issue with the UN. The scandals with the child molestation. It was just too much. Aside from that, the teachings such as the 1914 and that only 144,000 will go to heaven. No elder could explain that to me straight out. I would ask them questions and they simply didnt know the answer. In regards to the UN bit, I was straight out lied to.

If you think that the military is strict, wait until you get baptized. All your friends that you have made outside of the JW's, you will have to ditch them. If your family is not JW, you will have to limit association with them. Anything from your military past, you will have to throw away. Class A uniforms, ribbons, medals, comendations.... all of it. You will be told what you can and cannot watch on TV and at the Theater. You will be told what you can and cannot say. If you are caught doubting what they tell you... you will be marked as bad association and the people in the organization will shun you. There is just so many things to look at before you make any decisions.

It seems like you believe in god and I hope you take it into prayer as to what to do. Stick around and talk to the people who have once been involved with the organization and have left for various reasons. Get both sides of the story. Something that the JW's will greatly discourage. Feel free to send me an email anytime. [email protected]

Hey Pr_Capone, that was right on, thanks for sharing with MMTP. It helps for him to know that there is another armed service person on this forum. Actually there is another fellow, but I haven't seen him here in a little while. I hope he'll pop in and share.

    My favourite line by Pr_Capone:

If you think that the military is strict, wait until you get baptized.

That's so true. Not necessarily with the military, but with everything. But since MMTP has lived as a JW, he knows a thing or two about that, thus the conflicting questions and other concerns.

Best wishes MMTP. We're here for you, if you need us.

What does the Bible say about military service?

    When I was a witness I would have turned to 2 Timothy 2 ; 24

"A slave of the Lord does not need to fight" Mind you, I now see that the context is talking about debates and arguments . Funny how often that happens when you look back at "Key Scriptures"!

Witnesses make a lot of Jesus words to be "No part of the world" so that excludes any type of patriotism or service or voting

Personally, I was and am against the war ,and any armed conflict, but I am past the days of inflicting my views on others .

Good luck in your search for the real truth. Stick around here for a variety of comments
