Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Paul mentioned 'tribulation in the flesh' that evidently comes from the trials and tribbles of being married. He saw marriage as okay but a diversion from full attention on the Lord.
On the other hand, it seems that studies show that married folk outlive singles. This would presumably indicate that marriage satisfies some deeper inner need to a certain degree, or quite possibly it just keeps you from dying sooner for some reason.
Statistically people are happier and live longer married.
My bible reads,
She is more blessed, though, in my opinion, if she remains as she is, and I think that I too have the Spirit of God. 1 Cor 7:40 NAB
I know the Society likes to translate "blessed" as happy, but that's not always the best translation. At any rate, I think each person is different. In Paul's context I think he was still expecting the second coming soon (sound familiar). Anyhow, I like being married, I just haven't had much luck picking wives.
Depends on the person. I am the love being & am happier married type. However I have friends who are VERY happily single - they have very active social lives/careers and a large circle of friends and family that complete there life. I think both situations have there + and -'s. However I wouldn't want to go back to single for anything!
I was sooo miserable in my first marriage. But that was because she was/ is an evil bitch.
My marriage now has made me the happiest man on earth. Caligirl is a true blessing and joy in my life.

That may be true, but I have a theory. Wanna hear it? Here it go...
Married people who slip in the bath tub, or choke on a piece of chicken, or have a heart attack... have someone else living in the house who just might find them and call for help. And live. Might explain the longer life span.
Also, I've heard that singles with pets live longer than singles without. And dogs are cheaper.

Hee hee Teejay!
I am happily single and the men of the world are probably happy I'm single too...LOL! I have good friends and a wonderful son so I don't "need" to be married. I wouldn't mind a long term relationship but I am not unhappy being single either.

I think there are so many unhappy marriages because people look to someone else to make them happy...that has to come from within. If you are married you can not depend on someone else to create a happiness for you..it adds too much pressure on a relationship. The happiness comes married or single when you are good with who you are. Don't expect from others what can't be expected from you.
