In verse 32 and 33 Paul talks about being anxious and wanting approval - (well, according to the NWT rendering atleast) in both cases it is in relation to someone else. I say whether you're single or married you wouldn't want to be anxious about being approved of, it seems to me the bible says something about not being anxious too. Maybe it's a matter of living with someone else's anxiety and need for approval - you still have your own but you're just used to living with it.. Maybe I'm just off topic, seems like this is more about peace.

When I was married I could not imagine not being married, (15 years). Of course when I was a J-dud I could not imagine not being a dud, (23 years). Now, I shutter at the thought of either. I like my little cat though. My lady friends have their own homes and lives, we just enjoy each others company and then go our seperate ways. For now this works for me. Maverick

    Single.

    I am happy.

No one nags me about my atrocious snoring or my beer belly.

Notice that Paul states his views are "his opinion." Are we to understand Paul's opinions to be guided by holy spirit and instructive for us two thousand years later?

    I don't really think so.

    NoIdea,

Happiness in marriage comes from living to see your partner smile doing everything in your power to make them happy. When each takes the others well being to heart it makes for the most rewarding and fulfilling of situations. If single people are happier being single why do they seek out the company of others and venture into less than commited relationships? I think people settle for less than they want or need, and this leads to less than happy marriages.

Just my opinion, not trying to slam anyone. I suppose I am lucky to have found someone who feels for me the way I feel for them. For us it works.
