Gotta live at least long enuf to be fully prepared for death.
Cuz you don't want to give anybody that's gettin ya down the satisfaction of knowing/thinking they succeeded!
And when things seem really bad it usually means they can only get better.
Hang in there!
Robyn,
I hope you'll be reading this after you've had some hours of sound sleep, and have woken up feeling somewhat better than you were earlier.
You asked:
I have a couple of things that I want to accomplish. After that, what's the point?
I bet after you've accomplished those things, you'll have found something else you'll want to add to your list of "must dos". I've got dozens of them, and I'm no where close to getting near to finishing them. Some I haven't even started yet. I bet you too have things you want to accomplish. So why not consider that a worthy goal, to at least finish all the things you wanted to do on this earth before you leave?
I totally empathise with you and the feelings of depression where you feel you're in a pit that you just can't climb out of. Today has been especially hard, because June 13 is the anniversary of my mother's death. I have tried not to think about it too much, because if I do, it will be too much emotionally. But you know what? One thing that I gained from my mother dying when I was so young, was that it inspired me to appreciate life for all that it gives us. Every day that I'm alive is one that she isn't (at least in this life), and when I see the sun shining, or laugh with my friends, it's something that she'll never be able to do. It's ironic that seeing someone die in front of me helped me realise the beauty of life and living.
Hang in there Rob. You're not the only one to be feeling the way you do, as this thread shows. We love and care for you, so don't you DARE go anywhere!!!!
Good Grief Robdar.
HOW DID I MISS THIS POST????
I feel like such a let down.
I have your number, time for one of those 'calls from Rayzorblade'.
Last time we talked, it was great! Sorry to have read the latest, and I certainly would want nothing but the best for Robdar.
You're a darling, with a voice that could melt steel.
Our conversation about animals, zoos and animal caregiving were great.
Little Baby (the parakeet) is peeking out from her basket watching me type this, she must know I'm writing to an animal lover here. She tweets her little 'best wishes' to you as well as me.
I'll call you later on, if I don't get you, I'll still leave a message.
(((((Robdar)))))
Robyn,
Know that you aren't alone in feeling as you do. I could be very discouraged about my present situation, but I know life is no fairy tale and that I will have to deal with problems even if they seem to be many.
That is one reason why I joined here as to get more support. I offer support and take it though when I need it. It looks from the short time that I have been here that there is a great group of people here to talk to about anything on your mind.
Take care.
Ron
Are there any real reasons to go on living?
ANSWER: Yes, people care. It is hard to believe at times but it is true. Everyone is important and so are you.
Also, it is fun to be a pain in the butt to other people that deserve it!
